Find my English dad! Thirteen year old “Emmy” just wants a cuddle

A family has appealed to Thai Rath online to help find a thirteen year old girl’s English father.

All they know is that he is called “Davo” and is or was in the movie business. He is from London and will now be in his seventies.

Natwasniee “Orn” Jomphongreun, 41,from Suphanburi went to the new media with her 13 year old daughter Fahsai or “Emmy” and her five year old son Nathawat from another relationship.

Emmy has not seen her dad since she was four months old.

Orn said that she met “Davo” when she was working in a restaurant in Nana in Bangkok after they were introduced by friends.

Davo came and went and usually stayed in Sukhumvit Soi 11. Orn fell pregnant in 2003 and first she thought he might have gone missing in the tsunami.

He turned up when Emmy was four months old, gave them some money but then disappeared for nine years.

When Emmy was nine they arranged to meet through a friend but the Bangkok rendezvous fell through after a phone got mislaid and there has been no contact since.

Emmy said that she misses her dad and wants to hug him.

Orn has returned to live in Suphanburi where she is in a relationship with another man who is the father of her son.

Come on TDCSI, let's crack the case

No actor on the cast of the Movie The Business with that name.

You guys are so cruel... what if she's really looking for her father bcos she wants to know the other half of her?

(Yeah, I know some of you are taking the piss!)

There are so many Amerasians or Eurasians who have been abandoned by their dads. (Well, just look at our resident Flake.)

It must be tough to grow up and look different from your classmates/ friends, and not have that family support/love from the parent who gave you that fair skin, tall nose and/or blondish hair. (Or african-ish features, for those with black dads).

There's a girl in my hometown, a few yrs younger than me. My family called her "German shepherd" whenever we talked abt her, bcos she had a German dad. Her mom worked briefly in Yermany and got herself pregnant by an elderly Yerman guy. I don't know the full story, but that's the gossip from the village. You could really see that she's a mestiza/ luk kreung bcos of her fair skin & blondish hair. I guess she must've gotten used to the whispers behind her back of being the illegitimate child of a Yerman, and it mustn't have been easy. Some years ago, her dad died, and she was brought to Yermany for a DNA test, upon getting the positive result, the lawyers gave her some $$ which her dad left. I don't know if the dad gave financial support as she was growing up. Maybe he did, as she studied in private schools and was able to finish college.

There's also the story of Luke Mijares, a half-black, half-pinoy singer here. I've told his story here on TD sometime. He's the son of a black GI, back when there were US bases in rhe PI. His life story was dramatized in one episode of a weekly drama. He recalled beiing taunted bcos he was dark, had curly hair, and looked different, especially when he was a kid. He later became a famous singer, saved money and went to the US to find his dad. He found the dad, but dad was indifferent. He left the US dejected, but got on with his life.

This 13 y.o. girl would have it easier than Luke, I think. She's fair-skinned and pretty. However, there will always be that curiosity abt her dad - what he looks like, his voice, etc.

For the good & responsible dads here - good onya and advance happy father's day! For the deadbeat dads - karma will get you one day...

Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now.

No it was Ben's mom that ran off with a katoey originally. Fluke has never abandoned Ben and left him in the village where the tree dwelling monkies live. He's not that kinda person.

...unfortunate generalization...it is not beyond suspicion that this girl, her mother and husband/brother would like to exploit an asset like luk kreungery for financial gain. Her background as a Nana "waitress" and exploits with other men suggest a common theme in the swamp: use emotional blackmail to lure in the purported father (if he's still alive). I notice no mention of a DNA test was made to support the mother's suggestion that she knows without a doubt who the daughter's father is. The story needs a much stronger basis in fact to pass the smell test, imo...

Could it be Davros from Dr Who? He was in the movie business, though I think he was Welsh not English.

    A heart rending story nevertheless.

@tomcat - sure, there are opportunistic women everywhere, even here in PI. There were lots of prozzies in Clark & Subic, back when there were US bases, and lots of Amerasian kids were born. Some half-white, some half-black. The half-blacks had it harder, since they got taunted due to their dark skin & features. Just like the rest of SEA, most Pinoys value the Caucasian concept of beauty. The half-blacks would get taunted as "negro, egoy, ulikba, uling (charcoal)" etc. Children can be so cruel. The half-whites don't get teased much. There are also parents who sell their kids for prostitution. A sad fact of life.

However, IMO, it's not the kids' fault that they were born illegitimate or half-white/black. It's not their fault that they were born by a prozzie or waitress mom, and now being used
in an emotional tug of war by their parent(s) or elders. Take the case of Ben, the lil 3 y.o. boy. It's not his fault who his dad or mom is.

As for the case of this 13 y.o. kid, Emmy, sure, a DNA test would be best to determine if "Davo" is really her dad.

Btw, I'm thinking that Davo may not have been an actor. He could've been part of the production crew. The article just said that he's in the movie business.

Davo would have been 58-ish when she was born. Neither of the guys in the photo look 58.

Davo will turn out to be a total disappointment... she's better off not knowing.

Anyway I reckon the ma is just punting the kid to get some back pay now she's too old for the game.

You can't blame the kid for dreaming about a nice Daddy that could provide all of those nice things. Mommy would be happy and so will Daddy, men are so happy when fulfilled with caring for their child.
