Childhood dreams? Need to compamise?

When I was a kid I read adventure stories of explorers etc.

My dreams were of tropical shores,reefs,dusky bare breasted 'maidens' etc.
At 16 I wanted to join the Royal Navy.My mother and father would not sign the papers. Tried Merchant marine they still refused.

I eventually married a dusky unmaiden and have palm trees and tropical shores near at hand...Life is a compromise..5555
