    Get real.

And wtf do you know about thai visa subject matter?
    Experienced?

They obvioulsy didn't challenge it, did they? If they were legit, they'd have no problem. But you can't go to the feds and say "Some thieving bastard is trying to charge too much for my dodgy visa" can you?

Obviously you know jack shit then.

    No change there.

It took about 3 weeks all up from he initial connection.

I don't know if it still operates.
You can still get a multi-entry retirement visa easily thru several agents in Pattaya, I use one myself for this. Give them your passport, bank statement, they take a photo, and you get your PP back the next day. Costs about 15k for the service, more if you don't have 800k Baht in the bank but I don't know how much more. You can do it all yourself for something like 4 or 5k - and I have friends that do - but it can turn into a nightmare they tell me if you get some bitchy Immigration officer who'll come up with some excuse(s) about the submitted paperwork not being right that sees them at the back of what can be long queues again (and again at times).

Fuck that, I'd much rather be on a golf course than stuck in Immigration with ticket #241 in hand while they're serving ticket #185 that belongs to some Russian who can't speak English, never mind Thai, and there's some problem with his paperwork he/she can't understand. Life's too short...

    Very smart move indeed.

15 K once a year is piss all, it removes all contact with the Filth and you just go on playing Golf.

    Onya.

It basically means you have to immerse yourself in the local culture and be an expert on everything Thai, bit like Jeff.

Hang on I forgot Jeff is Thai.

actually there is no such thing as a "retirement visa" either.

its a 90 day non immigrant visa, which is then extended based on meeting the requirements for a one year stay (age, money, etc.)

leaving the country invalidates the extension, and the visa it was based on, unless a re entry permit has been obtained prior to leaving.

^Well I couldn't be fucked taking pics of my PP and posting them but 1 stamp says RETIREMENT and the other says MULTIPLE under "number of entries" so I'll just call it a multi entry retirement visa and you can call it a ham sandwich if you like.

Actually,...what you're drinking there is not a cocktail at all.
No ma'am, that one there is a well drink.
Are you aware of the history behind well drinks or the origin of the term cocktail?

Have you ever heard the expression: "liquor in the front, poker in the rear," by chance?

    Bollox.
There is a non-imm O visa, based on retirement, with a 1 year validity time of the visa.
You are allowed to stay max 90 days at a time after which you must do a border hop but you can of course hop every day if you so want because the numbers of reentries are not limited.
By reentering the day before the visa expires you can get ~ 450 days of stay out of it.

He must be married to a Thai who doesn't speak a word of English then.

I can't imagine an English speaking bint would hang around long having to listen to that.

I've got to go get a 6 month multi entry visa to enter Thailand by land now. New rule changes mean I can only cross 2 times a year. But I can fly in as many times as I like.seems a bit fucking silly to.me but what da fuck. I will.play the game also to get the 6 month er one has to have a Lao work visa. Letter from employer and 200 000 baht in the bank. I guess the somchai have had enough of the pattaya chavs on the visa run
