    Any neighbours have cctv?

Tell him you have even if the niece says otherwise. Give him a day or two to come forward. Better chance than the coppers getting off their arses!

If you have a neighbour, bullshit and say the neighbour informed you.

not sure who is more stupid,

a rich expat handing over a key to some poor Thai girl to look over his house full of expensive shit

or the Thai boyfriend getting the key from the poor girl and robbing all the expensive shit

tough call, blue collar oil worker man
The niece had been raised as one of our own and was a well trusted family member. I don't beleieve she had anything to do with it and we have no proof that he did it. Due to the niece not reporting the the theft for 5 days l don't think police or insurance will be of any help. Police did how ever get some finger prints.
It's not the best situation but when we decide to move back to Australia we just packed one suitcase each and left.
Couldn't give a shit about the laptops but wife upset about her jewelry
At least the Harley was safe lol

Nah she has a bright future was time she stepped pushed out on her own. Bit of tough love
But is upset that she has to walk everywhere and moved into one bedroom place as big as a bathroom.

The gated community has CCTV abut all it will show is him watering the plants, which he probably didn't even do as halve the garden was on the verge of dying.
I was going to install CCTV but the wife complained it was to expensive, now she is getting CCTV installed

I'm sorry to hear that. And you're flying back from the UK also?

I would take the law into my own hands if I was convinced my niece's boyfriend did the deed, and most importantly, I have backup.
I am in the Middle East and wife flew over from Australia. We will see what happens when l get there but don't plan on laying a finger on the guy

In a way it's a shame that the niece has to suffer for picking a wrongun but that's the way it goes I suppose.

I'm guessing that Rigger and the missus will pursue until justice is served.....or not. Don't know the situation, but if the ballsy young man in question is connected, it'll become more of a mess than needs to be.

The alarmist and cautionary instinct in me suggest that this dumb punk is associated with high authority, therefore thinking that they get away with shit and somewhat swept under the rug.

Sorry for the loss of valued things and the insecure feeling of invasive activity.
More important might be your supposedly trusted faith [and family ties] in your young niece has been severed.

Sorry to hear what happened Rigger. I'm sure family will sort it out.
We lock up our place every year but the BiL has a key. Problem is his drug addiction.
Luckily family live 2 doors away and keep an eye on him when he shows up to clean up. Plus we leave no valuables other than electronics and bikes, these can be replaced.

I must disagree with all due respect. Let your wife sort it out. She will be more than capable of dealing with situation appropriately. Reading between the lines it looks as though she's already started and good for her.

Seconded...let the wife handle it. Totally agree.

Does it really matter ? She is paying for it now. And yes l believe she didn't have anything to do with it but only basing that on the her past living with us for 15 years and never taking a thing. plus she knows the valve of silver and they left it all. The wife grilled them both and said she feels that the niece isn't involved by the boyfriend was suss, anyway both gone now.

Sorry to hear about the break-in and thanks for the heads up for others in a similar position. We have MIL, neices and their boyfriends looking after our house and land as well. I pretty much keep an open house except for the master bedroom upstairs, which no-one has immediate access to, although it would be easy enough to break in.

We guess that if we can't trust them then we shouldn't have built in the first place. A bit of a dilemma really as we are leaving more and more things in Thailand...

Hope you manage to sort things out without having to alienate anyone. Best of luck

    FOJ

neice will continue to believe him that took her virginity until such a time as he fcuks her over with another woman

logically putting him in jail will lengthen the time until that arrives , plus he will gain a meth habit and a stretched ringpiece which will likely cause him to beat the naive

make sure the silly bitch is on the pill and let thainess take its course
If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.

    Forget it and move on.

Sorry to say, but you know the rules.... Don't give any of the Thai a hint of a sniff of anything of value or anything that matters to you.

Young bloke caught you slipping and did you.

Learn, and move on with as little Thais involved in stuff that matters to you as possible.

The place is for fun bud, not for gold and silver treasure chests, and giving them the keys to mind while everyone's away.

I'm sorry to hear it Rigger. You know, up here I don't lock my house or close my windows- I wouldn't even know how. Really.

Somewhere along the line, it's an inside job.

Yes. They left stuff that mattered to them while buggering off and leaving the keys with the Thai niece who has a scrub Thai boyfriend.

It is a bit sad, but leave nothing around the Thai that matters to you.

Harsh, but as many will attest, fair.
