Check the rubber thread in the farming/gardening forum.
Peeps be tappin' rubber in the North.
I've bean to one rubber farm in Issarn.
They're just.....slower...lazier trees....kinda' like the uh,.....errr....the bees, yeah....bees.
Most certainly the largest and most established [per density] plantations of rubber will be found in the south..
Yet, latex/rubber groves can be found in variable sizes throughout the Isaan plauteau - I know of Ubon, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, NKP, Sisaket, and Surin that have long worked rubber tree fields.
As it does reasonably throughout the central basin, one will find scattered areas there as well.
Personally, have had shirt-tail relatives that worked at least a couple hundred of rai along the highlands of Phitsanulok/Phetchabun - amazingly productive at that altitude....later replaced by pineapple because of the shitty rubber market.
Know of small plots along the Sukhothai/Tak frontier, as well.
Hensen do yourself a favour and listen to Dave 48. There is sage advice. Take it now before you get into the sh#t. I fear you are not looking for advice but self justification for what you probably know deep down has a 90% chance of biting you on the arse. Remember many of us here have seen it or felt it before. Experience is a hard task master.
the same as anyone pondering such a life.Originally Posted by Hugh Cow

obviously, we want updates lol.
Love is love ..bad or good still love
I really don't think so, the divorce rate between foreigners and Thai women, especially Issan ones must be about 70% at least. Most couples have bugger all in common and 99% of Thai women, according to the Mrs, marry for financial security, not for western notions of 'love'. When the financial expectations are not met then that's where the trouble starts. Of course there are lots of long term marriages, but far more broken ones, the shortest I remember was six weeks, bar girl and fat westerner who could not deliver on the cash front.
Yeah? I can think of 3 off the top of my head that got that beat.
I'm considered to be a serial marrier by some.
7 years (Bkk Thai), 3 years (Korean), 3 years (Issaner), now. < Monster age gap.
I met a merkin in the sands of time who had been married 9 (fucking!) times.
His latest conquest was 3 yrs ago w/ a Flipper nurse in Sawdy which dissolved after his company lost the contract and he returned to the states. There, he balked on bringing her over immediately and (I think) lessened his monthly payments.

love does not equal lust. and to suggest that once you stop payment there is a problem AND you love each other...well thats just a real laffer there.
but i reckon that this is all either just a wind up or some schmuck who has money to burn, which both are cool. i mean, this is an internet forum. it's filled to the brim with piss.
which is cool. piss on lads. piss on.
I think, maybe that me and Za are the only two, I know of, currently active on the Board, who have not actually married in their lives.
My Lassie and I are in our 7th year together and we've had 2 rugrats ... my first kids BTW.
I've lived a blessed life ... if only I could snag Lotto ...
Not that Money makes you happy ... but it does give you options ... and I have a few 'options' I'd like to materialise.
Interesting David, I didn't know that (about you and Za).
Yeah man,....I gotta get back on my sister to play my powerball numbers.
I'd like to think for when I win....I'll immediately cut it in 1/2 and give that to wifey. We've been together almost 7 years (already! where does the time go?) and she's been there for me for some of the difficult stuff and just cuz I love her.
Then 1/4 out my remaining. I've got Mom, sis and bro. We'd each get our respective portions and we'll see you on the yacht in Chalong bay
Your attempt to stain the reality factor might be a bit exaggerated and runs afoul.
The respective percentile comparisons might run closer to:
Divorce/separation - 50%
Gold digger syndrome - 65%
...and most of which fall under the category of unsubstantiated myth based on stereotypical conclusions.
Ohh god!! still have 1% think about love..thats cool lol
Just find rich women so you no need to pay anything..hmm or maybe pay more I am not sure lol
Possibly all of you do za, just not the 'western notion' of it, apparently.
