You look at any other nationality when they are in a foreign country and they always stick together.
Only Farang will come to a third world country, get stripped of any rights they had back home and then stab each other in the back.
Why is that?

Possibly you need to get a different set of friends.
Even in our home countries there are plenty of POSs that dwell on the bottom rungs of honour, loyalty or friendship.

In any generalization, there is a core of truth.
I agree, Farang in toyland, don't have any network, *in the main* they don't cooperate, many are full of jealousy, bitterness... some on this board, fall into this category, most do not.
I wondered the same, of course, you can (if you look long and hard enough) find a great bunch of friends and play bingo, sip Earl grey tea on Friday nights...
But generally, yeah... farang in Thailand are not a band of brothers.. one only has to read this board, to see the many warring factions, backstabbing, insults, etc..
Prolly because this board is infected with farangs NOT living in Thailand.Originally Posted by NZdick1983

Perhaps the OP should recast his post: I don't have a farang social network that supports my life in Thailand. I'd like to have a whole community of friends living near me, but, alas, that is not the case. I wish Thailand were more like home where I had friends that helped and encouraged me. *sniff*
Majestically enthroned amid the vulgar herd
VG point & one I failed to note. A lot of disharmony can evolve by virtue of this.
It would assist if such vermin could be eradicated.
An ID #?
And why should I care about some yellow shirt apologist farang, who may or may not live in Thailand, while I watch and feel this country go to shit? I feel it, both financially and emotionally- but I do not feel any automatic solidarity with another 'farang' (whatever that is meant to mean).
Forums are a great place to watch the shit heads run around throwing insults, threats around.
Usually, it's the inadequate element of the expat community or the ones that have nothing to do with the country.
Sometimes I think they should find a very high building and do the right thing for their fellow expats.
Ye with no access to the net.
Having lived in both Thailand and the Philippines for almost three decades, I would note that a lot of low class foreign trash washes ashore in both. Some fine folks live in both, but there are a lot of lost souls.
It's not something I see much of, having lived for the last decade in an area with very few foreigners, but I have really never understood why I should feel the need to bond with someone simply because we share the same skin color or nationality.

Do Arabic speaking peoples feel an automatic bonding? Not if I read the papers.
Do Chinese people? Check out what's going on in HK.
Euro's? Brexit, anyone.
'merkins? Haha, lets talk about the election.
Thai? Not on your nellie (don't swallow the propaganda).
It's a silly question really.
Network for what? I have many mates for socializing etc..Originally Posted by NZdick1983
Business network? I think business is,in the main, each to his own.
^^^ cutting that "s" out still too technical for you eh?
...don't forget the low self-esteemers, the self-deluders and other representatives of wretched masses yearning to breathe free...Originally Posted by Begbie
