it's still a big deal with most Thai families, I forked out 200k, got 100 back and most of the rest went on the wedding, I think they made a bit out of it but they never got anything since. It makes me smile when Johnny foreigner boasts he paid nowt on forums, when you know they married a whore from Pattaya or Bkk who had a few thousand through her, and left her with at least one kid.

My thai friend have to lived with her husband for 5 years ...then get married

after...the guy pay sin sod around 60,000 baht and 1 baht gold and they together

only 3 month after married then get divorce ...she told me money for sin sod they have to borrow

from someone else...

In thai many couple find sin sod together bofore marry not always guys have to

pay...the parent say if want to marry just help each other to find the

money...I mean the couple

Nothing wrong with it, but paying sin sot for a whore is laughable, in terms of Thai culture. If you do marry a slapper the odds are even worse than normal for it working out, although we all know people like this who have been married for decades. Maybe we should have a did you marry a whore thread?
