Are any English posters here descendants of this guy.
On this day in 1017 Cnut the Great was crowned King of England.
Don't know if he was a good or bad Cnut whilst he was the king

Canute was the King that famously ordered the (sea) tide to stop coming in. Wasn't very successful, but did a bit better with the rampaging Viking cnuts that were sailing in on it.

It is quite likely that I am a direct descendant of King Cnut. I list below only a choice few of the many compelling reasons:
