    Question words I hate

New words appear to be popping up everywhere like weeds in my garden. Superfluous words that are replacing perfectly good words already in use. Like putting white wall tyres on a Corvette ZR1.
    We can start there.
Outside of USA (EG Australia) ITS A ZED AAH 1. (Brit) ZED ARE 1. Not Zee (sounds like the letter C) ARE 1.
    Bespoke? Whats wrong with Custom?
Paridigm? Whats wrong with Example, view perspective?
Dude? originally basically dresses like a wanker.
Bro? I am not your brother and probably don't wish to be remotely related to you.
Gay? I have met both lesbians and homosexuals who were anything but happy.
I have an old female friend whose name is Gay.
How would you like to go around telling everyone you know "Hi, I'm Gay". Especially if you were traveling in Saudi Arabia or Iran.
    What's everyone else's hate words?

We pronounce it correctly. It's the Americans who have bastardised the language. And that's "bastardised" with an "s", not a "zed".

wwwDOTcom, for instance. We accept it as "dot", not "point" or "fullstop" (or "period" in the US).

The newish one that I dislike is "bae" as a term of endearment.....but I'm just showing my age and getting irritated with how English is evolving.

    Zee. Zee. Zee. Zeeeeeeee.

Schedule pronounced shedule. No one say shool for school. Why shedule?

Pronouncing words ending with an r as an a. Like car pronounced caa. And the words ending in a as an r. Like Ma pronounced Mar. What's up with that?

I was brought up to say 'H' as 'aitch' and not 'haitch'
So anyone saying the latter fucking annoys me.

The American pronounciation of 'arse'..ie. 'ass'
Even worse when hearing Brits use it.

I hate most words uttered by Brits with that annoying 'mid atlantic' accent.

    Exactly.

That 'paradigm' in particular is frequently used by tossers is not the fault of the word itself.

Particularly when accompanied by high fives or their bastard offspring, the 'fist bump'.

After an introductory handshake there really is no need for British men to have further physical contact.

I hate the way nouns are used as verbs, and just because some silly cvunt of a lexicographer whacks it into his dictionary it's judged to be all ok.

    Well it fucking isn't.

Critiquing seems to have abated these days not least because only a poof might have employed it but I'm still prepared to slice the liver out of anyone using it thus.

"Moving forward " as a cliche should also form the basis of capital punishment - it's a pretentious meaningless term which is quite redundant in most uses currently employed by arseholes and is a pointless substitute for " let's forget about it ".

And the way pricks use "impacting" as a fucking generic replacement for "affecting" is nothing short of barbaric. I hear that and I want to stab their fucking eyes out. " Oh, I've been terribly impacted by the last train cancellation " fucking wanker. A fucking asteroid crashing into the planet is a fucking impact, and not just a bloody emotional response.

''Will you be spinning the discs tonight Pat?''

Sorry to everyone I have offended by calling them "Bro".

I understand, I used to hate people calling me that too - but it's hard to avoid in NZ...*the home of Bro.

I have grown to like it (in the right circumstance)... 10 years away from NZ, I've missed it. Basically it is the contraction of Brother... indicates respect, friendship.. nothing negative about it's usage by me, I assure you bro.

Anyway, moving forward lol (I hate lol).. it's so 1999 (but ok in very small doses)..
easily overused (a bit like my fleshlight heh)...

I like heh... I'm sure some of us (ok me and a bright few others) use such expressions simply to evoke an emotional response (annoy the shit out of you, in other words)...

All good bro! heh... ei ei (ok that went too far!) lol
