I recently read a statement that went something like, "Sadness is knowing too much and understanding too little."

Initially struck as something you'd find inside a discount fortune cookie. It however may be genius.

Not about me. I’ll be just fine. I tend to look at a larger picture,………

2016 will very likely be the hottest year on record and a new high for the third year in a row, according to the UN. It means 16 of the 17 hottest years on record will have been this century.

The scorching temperatures around the world, and the extreme weather they drive, mean the impacts of climate change on people are coming sooner and with more ferocity than expected, according to scientists.

Extreme weather and climate related events have damaged farming and food security, affecting more than 60 million people, according to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization. The level of CO2 in the atmosphere has also broken records in 2016, with May seeing the highest monthly value yet - 407.7 ppm - at Mauna Loa, in Hawaii.

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Which camp are you in mate? (Lu).

The oh, it's just a big coincidence...natural cycle of things..few more cows farting, nothing to be worried about.

Or are you with the scientific community that generally thinks we are fooked...way past the "tipping point" as Al Gore made famous.

2016. Bit of a mixed bag, but on a personal level pretty good. Still a fair way to go to 2017 though.

Seen the demise of a few of my heroes, Bowie; Lemmy, Prince, Ali, etc.

Touch-wood all the kmart family healthy and happy so far.

    Much worst, comparatively.
Lost a good friend and got shot in the head. Aside from that not a bad year.

I refer the gentleman to the comment on ' strong economic growth' in the final paragraph attached to the graph.
There has been little growth in world economies since the trough of 2008. The wheels of industry keep on turning just to climb back to where they were 8 years ago.
No wonder climate science has a bad press.

I actually struck lucky with a decent GF this year.

I promised myself I wouldn't plan anything big at the start of the year, as previously I've messed it up.

Really made the effort to go with the flow.

But.. we still have 6wks left until 2017

Celebrating the start of Trump and the end of Castro. Both powerful men who talk much about helping the average Joe/Juan, but never really have. Contradictory me thinks.
