Thread: Booking and paying for flights back to Europe.

I haven't bought my own tickets in over a decade, but will be buying soon enough (I guess) for 2 return tickets to Europe next July.

LHR, to be exact, with a short flight thereafter.

The price that comes up is 72k baht, that's fine, not too concerned about the cost.

What's the best way to pay with sites such as ebookers, flightscanner etc?

Is it worth going to a Thai travel agency?

I'd prefer to pay with THB from my Thai bank account than my Western credit card.

Do they get more expensive in the New Year? Is there any time of the year that booking them gets cheaper?

Has anyone gone through a Thai travel agent and gotten flights cheaper?

Is this in the right subforum?

Unless you are flying business that is a very high fare indeed.

Just booked return tickets for Australia, did the internet search thing, prices all over the shop, so when to a travel agent in ubon.

Qantas return flight on line was 110,000 Baht, wife 2 kids, travel agent, 85,000, flight to Ubon Thai smile 1500 Baht each, travel agent 1200.

Try using Skyscanner. It's very easy to use and generally cheaper than most.

Have used it extensively for the past few years and never had a problem.

I paid 25k to LHR return with Thai Airways who had a promotion on.

On the payment page you can tick Counter Service and then you have 24 hours to go pay for it at any 7/11.

Air Asia and Nok Air offer that service too. Although they dont fly to LHR

Have'nt used an agent this century, why pay a middleman?

Book online, can often select your seats and meals too, check in and with an eTicket why would you need an agent?

Heres the phone number of a Brit Travel agent in Bangkok, Auroria. His name is Tom. Someone gave me the number but i found tickets cheaper myself, so i'd suggest maybe getting a quote off him then searching yourself.

I always use Ebookers and I pay online with my UK Debit Card. Never a problem.

My Thai AM Card is a Debit card also, used for on-line purchases. Money straight out of the account, just like using cash.

Yes, good for Tesco and Big C etc.

Probably not so good for British Airways.

Of course it may be great for them. Any experience?

Not with BA, but other dealing yes. The ATM debit card has a "CCV" number that is required for on line transactions.

Sorry, actually it's classed as international flight, not domestic.

But moot point I guess. Looking for info on ease of payment while in Thailand with Thai Bank Account/Debit Card.
