To be fair you made some generalizations out South East Asian females, another poster questioned her education so if she didn't read the maid comment properly after that I don't blame her. (Not excusing her comments either).

The media were all over it say that it was being racist and that they were the moral compass we should be guided by.
We booed the prick because he was a dick ... not because he was an Aboriginal.

Converting that racial example to this gender example.
I care little who the member pretends to be, I either enjoy their posts ... or not.

If the Teak Door wants to expand it's membership and not disappear up it's own asshole we need to be more inclusive.

As a (robust) forum we (no, not you, the reader but the other posters) seem to find chinks in the Armour of other posters and try an exploit that fault.
Those cheap shots are fun ATT, but they contribute little to the health of the Forum.

Assuming the OP was moved ... GF was having a bit of light-hearted fun in the Jokes section, a long way from the glare of the Lounge.
It could/should be read in that context.

I'm not defending GF, but I will say that she (I'm assuming that GF is a she) she is posting OP's ... some you may like, some you may not ... but she's trying, which cannot be said of many of the more senior members here.

If you don't like the post or poster, just ignore. If GF sometimes posts comments laced with innuendo, so what? There are lots of other threads here with innuendo, why single her out because she's a girl? If she posts about coffee & others post about their beer or whiskey, so what? Same same but different. In fairness, if the OP (butter remark) was intended as a joke and winded up here in the lounge, then that was unfair & someone meant to stir the pot.

I also think GF was a tad too sensitive to Davis' post, and some remarks were uncalled for. But then, they've had animosity since Day 1 of GF's return, so I won't meddle anymore.

@za, I think you're basically a good person. A bit silly perhaps, but who isn't silly at times. But I also think that you should go out and see the world, and not only your corner of Bkk or Isaan. When you've traveled outside, it'll make you want to travel more. Traveling is avery good teacher. You learn about other places, cultures, and teaches you life skills too. If you can't travel yet, then read travel blogs. I don't know if there are young Thai travel bloggers. But there are lots of young Pinoy bloggers. I've learned a lot from reading those blogs, and they were very helpful when I planned my trips. Read, read, read!

No. In fact, I've never seriously done martial arts. They really weren't around when I was growing up. I've dabbled in a few things, like Filipino stick fighting, over the years, but that's it.

I was a High School wrestler, and a boxer at different points in my life. I was a hand-to-hand combat instructor in the Army for a while.

But martial arts? Nope. I leave that to my kids, who have been doing it since age 6.
