Pattaya grid-locked by flood water yet again

Pattaya grid-locked by flood water yet again

    Beach Road, Pattaya

The thunderstorm over Pattaya City, on the afternoon of October 26, left thousands stranded as they waited for the flood-water levels to subside.

Many areas of Pattaya were gridlocked and the roads blocked.

Along Beach road, Soi Neonplubwan Community, Kao Noi, Kao Talo, Railway Road water levels reached a depth of 50cms and the roads were effectively closed.

Sukhumvit Road was also affected as many kilometers were flooded.

It was four hours before water levels had drained and the roads became usable again.

For the last eight-years Pattaya City has been badly affected by flooding during the rainy season as the drainage system is cheap and poor.

Every year tens of thousands of people are affected by this third world problem and, once again, the people of Pattaya call upon the authorities to invest some money wisely and create an effective drainage system for the city.

The citizens of Pattaya are once again asked to show some intelligence and stop throwing their garbage into the current drainage system

The authorities have it under control alas a plague of thirsty Flang are drinking as much as poss in 10 minutes and pissing themselves, I think if you sample the water there will be traces of pie also which is also used as filler .

The poo yais suggest they just piss off

A Mr Ale-ing One said "I can fart films, so there"
A DJ Padriag Sanookeyes siad "Get iyer round in'
A spokeskatoey who asked not to be shamed for local pastrymonger said the soggier the town the more pies they want

Interestingly many low life choose to live in this foetid sewer revealing how dire the life must be Engerland,Rushya and Merryquay
I used to have a job at a calendar factory.
    I got the sack because
I took a couple of days off.

Makes me wonder how they are going to keep the new tunnels on Sukumvit clear of water when they can't even manage to keep Beach Road, which is Four metres from the sea passable.
    Oh well, Thais know best.

^They've said time and time again that they're aware of the disaster the tunnel flooding would be, and their engineers are 100% sure it will be drained efficiently.

As these engineers are locals, the chances of it not flooding are somewhere between none and fuck-all.

The morons thought they could build in Pattaya in much the same way they do elsewhere i.e. without any fucking planning, forethought, intelligence and infrastructure.

The linear development follows the lower slope of an escarpment which drained for thousands of years into the fucking sea along natural courses which are now blocked. And they wonder why it fucking floods?

And have they finally acknowledged that they need a major capital infrastructural development requiring billions of baht and world class expertise?

    Have they fuck.

The thing is there was a solution available but because this is Thailand it could not work as it did in say Singapore and Malaysia and this was the construction of monsoon drains running parallel to all main thoroughfares, streets and minor roads which would drain all surface water into culverts and thence into the main drainage ring system. The Thai would have just fucked it up and blocked them with their shit as they do with everything else in this silly country.

Such a shame but there it is. They really do deserve everything that befalls them.
