    Fuck....it's Aspie City here today.

Google corrected my search, for some reason.

Possibly because "faeary" is a made-up or modern version.

Dare I disagree with nidhogg? I must, because women are, (sweeping generalisation), wired up differently to blokes.
Psychologically, socially, emotionally and physiologically, they are different on a global level. There may well be national differences especially in a society like Thailand, where most men are, sweeping generalisation), feckless loafers. This is more to do with learned behaviours than hard wired gender traits.
Not possible to use LD as a comparison due to gender neutrality, and the assembly line that produced him/her, has been destroyed.

There are layers of behavioural influences, like layers in a sandwich, and there are definitely different sandwiches... and we all know that... that is a fairly simple illustrative description of how "race" and "culture" is comprised, that y'all should be able to cope with. Ergo, there are "Thai female psyches" plural, that fit within a Venn diagram of "Thai", "Female", and "Thai Female" "psyches", or culturally-influenced predispositions and behaviours. As with the types of human effluent that seeps in from abroad into places like Pattaya.

Mate, I hear what you are saying ... but even within 'us ex-pats' ... there are so many sub-groups.

Ex-pats who have, in no particular order ...
Come to Thailand as part of their corporate obligation ... their western boss assigned them here.

Genuine workers who have transportable work skills which allow them to travel the world and find that Thailand ticks many/most of their boxes.

    Embassy staff

Temporary ex-pats who live the dream for 5 or 10 years and move on (5 years out of Oz is considered as a non resident of Australia ... hence an 'ex-pat).

Retired folk, with little personal coin and rely on their pension to grant them a lifestyle unavailable in the West ... (no satire intended there ... everyone's personal circumstances and life's journeys are different).

Disabled folk who have acceptance here, which is would be difficult to obtain in the west.

Some men whose social skills are less then optimal and found it difficult finding a suitable partner in the West but have found love here.

World Travelers hanging their hat here for a few years.

Casual travelers, for whom the silk web has ensnared them.

Druggies who have shelter and an affordable habit here.

Sex diggers who have found gold diggers ... and stayed.

    LadyBoy Lovers

    Sex Mongers

    Criminals (all varieties)
THEN, who is left is, most likely the majority of us who have simply loved the lifestyle, or loved the woman (or man or the 3rd gender) who represents a better option to what awaits them in the West ... in the short or longer term.
Apologies if I have failed to recognise any significantly statistically important sub-group.

But Stroller ... I think I know where you are coming from ... and sometimes find it difficult to disagree.

But not from the good folk on TD of course!

    Good post.
    For me it was simple.
Flying from Aus to the UK and back every month back in 2006 I'd break the trip with a couple of days in LOS.
Met someone, fell for her, spent 6 months trying to seduce her, finally achieved that and haven't looked back.
Would never dream of carting her off to live in the UK or Aus and besides the occasional holiday this is our home. Best decision I've ever made. Especially now that I've retired and am no longer going to Aus for 3-6 months at a time to work.
She's the most loyal, hard working and trustworthy woman I've ever known and I've known a few.

I guess there are as many variables as there are people in this lunatic world. i'm just happy I got lucky.

And remember, at the global level [whatever that is], we're basically all the same......another Eurocentric sociological invention to insure the overgrown homogeny of the West.

Another comprehensive failure of simple comprehension by a misfit pretending to be clever and failing.
Just because you reject words or phrases you don't like, accept or understand, does not invalidate them. You're really not that important.

Hey Stupid ENT : take a close look at all your links.

They are names in which the spelling has been altered to make them unique and get the first Google hits, so that they are not confused with actual fairy of faery references.

They're mostly business names, you turkey ! Unless you're Sewdish....

    ^^ So what.

    The fact remains that you deliberately lied saying;

    "If you Google the word "faeary", there are precisely NO hits anywhere on the internet.";

when in fact Google obviously supplies several references to the word.

At a glance it does, dimwit.

If I type in a word I expect fvcking Google to get on with it and not give me the results for some differently spelt word.

I still maintain that "faeary" is not the actual spelling unless someone has changed it for their business.
