No, but weather I was dug six feet down or all the way to the other side of the earth it wouldn't have mattered if I had landed two feet north on the concrete.
Oh, silly me. You meant the op. The point is it could happen anywhere. China, Thailand, Auckland or Deadman Falls.
Reminds me of a treck I took years ago to Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We were exploring waterfalls on foot away from the road we camped along. It was quite a hike to the falls on a decent trail along the river. To our surprise there was a big cross just off the trail. Six feet high or better hardwood you could not wrap your hands around. It had a fishing pole and a few bottles leaning against it as well as some other trinkets. The inscription on the cross tie carved in large letters spelled out " here lies Joe de plume."
Fifteen years or so ago now and I believe I'll never forget that. Unless I get Alzheimer's disease that is.
If I ever find the old photo I'll give it a post. Haven't looked at that stuff for ages. Beautiful area but winters are harsh.
Take care of yourselves. .................................................. ...........................Peace out, the fish.
A friend of mine had an inebriated accident over Songkhran- he fell off his bench and cracked his head. Twice. Anyway, concussed- but all OK in the end.
Or was it? Some months later, he started suffering dizzy spells, blind spots, memory vagueness, lack of balance. His wife insisted he go to hospital, although he didn't want to (he's not young). Turns out, he had a blood clot in his brain, and would not have survived had it not been for his Thai wife's insistence. He owes his life to her.
So just keep an eye on things Cujo, remain alert. If something is 'strange'- have it checked out mate. Der brain is a strange thing.
Cujo wrote "I'd obviously slipped and cracked my head on the floor".
Glad to hear that you are OK.
I don't want to cause alarm but "obviously slipped" aint necessarily so. Take care, you may have had a blackout.
Cujo, how old are you?
Second question; Have you had a follow up check?
Old enough and no.
They said if I felt any obvious symptoms like headache, nausea, dizzyness or anything else to go back, otherwise no point.

I could tell you a very depressing story about my good mate Mike.
^ He hit his head and thought he was a girl online?

Tough old bloke, thought nothing of it.
Came back to Chiang Mai and called me on the Thursday.
I was going down to see him on the Saturday.
At around noon on the Friday he phoned me to say "Hi" and then drove his jeep into the klong.
Stone dead with a brain embolism bought about by the fall in Burma.
I went down on the Saturday as planned.
Blimey.

You couldn't meet a nicer, more down to earth bloke.
Anyone who's a member of the Chiang Mai Flying club will remember him with affection.
I think see someone write on here...:) noo?
