U.S. Government Finally Admits Marijuana Really Does Kill Cancer Cells

U.S. Government Finally Admits Marijuana Really Does Kill Cancer Cells

Or could it even be considered a preventative herb to avoid getting cancer?

Amy Willis with Metro says that the US government has added a page on the use of cannabis and cannabinoids to their official cancer advice website.

Willis advises, “The National Cancer Institute, part of the US Department of Health, now advises that ‘cannabinoids may be useful in treating the side effects of cancer and cancer treatment’ by smoking, eating it in baked products, drinking herbal teas or even spraying it under the tongue.”

The official government site has a long list of medicinal uses of cannabis, including: Anti-inflammatory activity, pain relief, anti-anxiety, stress relief, anti-tumor, antiviral activity and relieving muscle spasms caused by multiple sclerosis, and many many more.

The site goes on to talk about how cannabis has been proven to destroy cancer cells in lab experiments.

Willis continues, “Several scientific studies have suggested this in the past, and in April this year the US government’s National Institute on Drug Abuse revised their publications to suggest cannabis could shrink brain tumors by killing off cancer cells.”

If the United States government is finally willing to admit these benefits and that cannabis has been proven to kill cancer cells, then will other western nations follow suit?

If good health and decreasing cancer rates is important to you, then contact your government and tell them about the great benefits of cannabis – a natural herb that has a long list of benefits without the side effects of man-made cancer treatments.

Your inability to discern anything but the most literal sense could be a sign of Asperger's, bENT.

I don't think Marijuana is any help for that.

Actually marijuana may exacerbate whatever it is that's wrong with your cognitive functions. Because, let's face it, you're a few sammiches short of a picnic already.

    Best steer clear.

US government finally admits that cannabis kills cancer cells

Everyone from hippies to several creditable scientists have previously argued that smoking or ingesting the herb can have medicinal benefits
The US government has thrown its weight behind the earth-shattering claims that cannabis kills cancer cells.

Everyone from hippies to conspiracy theorists and even several creditable scientists have previously argued that smoking or ingesting the herb can have medicinal benefits.

Cancer kills up to 20,000 people worldwide every day, according to global health estimates.

Health researchers for the US government claim that cannabinoids - the active ingredients in cannabis - can inhibit the illness by causing cell death and blocking key blood vessels needed by tumours to grow.

They say studies in mice and rats show cannabinoids may be able to kill cancer cells - while still protecting normal cells.

Key chemical ingredients in marijuana were found effective in fighting against colon cancer, liver cancer, breast cancer and several other forms of the disease.

It was also suggested that cannabidiol can boost the effectiveness of chemotherapy - without any of the nasty side effects.

A health researcher on the US government's Cancer.org website claimed: "Studies in mice and rats have shown that cannabinoids may inhibit tumor growth by causing cell death, blocking cell growth, and blocking the development of blood vessels needed by tumors to grow. Laboratory and animal studies have shown that cannabinoids may be able to kill cancer cells while protecting normal cells.

"A study in mice showed that cannabinoids may protect against inflammation of the colon and may have potential in reducing the risk of colon cancer, and possibly in its treatment.

"A laboratory study of delta-9-THC in hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) cells showed that it damaged or killed the cancer cells. The same study of delta-9-THC in mouse models of liver cancer showed that it had antitumor effects."

Is there anything at all cogent in Ant's leading, "Yeah Nah" response, (post #2) other than a suggestion of a strongly ambivalent, self-contradictory expression?

    Urm,

I'm sorry mate but Bob had damaged his toe and the resulting infection done him in.

Cancer had nothing to do with it.

    Google it up.

Not sure how much but it was some heinous amount.
And was that with sharing? I imagine so. He had heaps of groupies.
But the strains weren't as potent then as now. Hard to imagine 250 grams in a day now.
    Actually, I'd say impossible.
