When my kids came home with their end of term report cards for me to read and sign, I rewarded them each with (initially) ten cents, just for bringing them fearfully home.

(The school would try and terrify the kids about bad reports, their parental consequences, social approbrium and crap).

I'd give them each another ten cents after a yack, with them explaining to me why the results.

I'd give them a further ten ten cents to figure out a new way for themselves at school, if they thought they needed it.

I gave them all lotsa love, cuddles and support, throughout their times with me,...unconditionally.

Ants, we all all know that you're a total fwkn failure.

    A haz-been from NZ.

    Lost yer rugby and cricket skills, walk around like an over-stuffed turkey, stalk old men around Chiangmai moat and farang supermarkets, as you push a trolley without buying, just a paranoid fruit cake, looking very much like this;

Yup, puffed out chest and all, and with glasses...

I know most have seen this many times but I still love the emotion of the event and achievement by someone who most thought was wasting her time particularly at her age.

Demonstrating a gift is no achievement? Tell that to the homeless guy. I've been taught to never look a gift horse in the mouth. I'm trying to put it mildly.

Ok, so the kids have been taught at a young age to perform. As with the homeless guy most never achieve stardom. You simply can not say they have not achieved.

I personally have been practicing various musical instruments my whole life. Like a lawyer or a doctor it's a practice. I may feel I will never be perfect at it as each time I "play" it's a new beginning. An evolution so to speak. I know I'm not gifted, no virtuoso but I get it. I take great pride in showing, as I have in years gone past, how one can connect the dots so to speak, on any key board.

My personal achievement was just the other day as I went into the music store and only left with 15usd worth of Jim Dunlop pics. I truly need them because I thrash the shit out of them until they shred. ( It pisses off the gf as I spend more time playing with myself than with her ) I'm lucky I have more than one axe to grind. She often hides them on me as I am kind of a junkie with them, but that's another fish story.

I wanted the Martin that was on sale. The Yamahas cried out to me as they are great crooners. Each I tried had its own swan song. But I had to leave them all behind knowing that if I would have taken one with me I would never finish painting my masterpiece. That being this house I've been working on. I guess that's why they call me, they call me the working man. I guess that's what I am.

I can't wait to get back to Laos and jam with that "child" I had fun with a few years ago. He was a quick study. Almost gifted I guess.

I hope they don't ask me to sing again. I feel awkward as I know they dont know the songs meanings.

That's cool. I've been wanting to take the Fishlocker out on Michigan as the weather is perfect but I have to finish my project ( a house remodeling ) first. Ive been screwing with it for far too long. 350am and I finally finished the basement. Glad I passed on the guitar or Id never get this done. Cheers.

When I hit the big pond I will do a thread on it. I allways said I troll with Penn and Daiwa! No joke.

    Fish on!

In my opinion, very few people are "gifted" at anything. People are not born highly skilled at anything. Most people work hard to achieve a high level of skill and some people work very hard to get to a very high level of skill. The top people are usually highly dedicated to their discipline (sport/music/profession/work/activity, etc) and have dedicated themselves to it and worked very hard at it for years.

A gifted and brilliant individual, yet had to struggle to work his magic.
Like all of this nature - misunderstood, look upon as an heretic, and suppressed.

    Fantastic. Well done mate.

Unfortunately I've given out too much repo in the last 24 hrs.

In the words of some geezer from a 2am heavy metal TV show in the 90's.. rock hard... rock heavy.

Shouldn't this be in the stupidest way you've injured youself thread? Far too many successful rockers self destruct when it comes to drugs. The sex part alone did in Freddy Murcury. I can't even imagine the power of a heroine addiction. Simple coke is tuff enuf. I'll be cutting mine with Makers Mark today.

Good luck to anyone going through that. Sex drugs and rock&roll good luck with that really. Try not, do. Do or do not. Yoda.

Tesla invented the polyphase motor. Won the AC/DC war. Sold out his pattens to Westinghouse and died a poor recluse living in an upper floor in apartment that I belive was in one of Westinghouses' buildings in New York.

As a child his father made him memorize bible versus verbatim. He was a Seer of visions and his system of step up, step down transformers powered the world in the long run. Before that it was believed that DC was they way to go but that required a powerhouse on evey other block.

So yes he gets my vote as well. Good call Jeff. I don't care what they say about you, you got this one right. Some of your other stuff, well I'll just leave it at that. Eveyone is entitled to an opinion no matter how shocking it may be. Get it? Shocking/ Tesla. Ok back to work. I'm replacing all the recepticals ans switches in this house and wiring in the new track lighting while it's daylight.

Strange as it may sound but I deep down believe he was in it for all of humanity. Kind of like Jeff don't you think? He took joy in feeding the pigeons in New York's Central Park as he grew old. His penthouse apartment paid by Westinghouse who he gave/ traded/ sold his pattens to.

Probably the greatest achievement to mankind at the time was AC power transmission and the polyphase electric motor. Not bad for a couple of Poles, I'm sorry mabey he was Romanian.

Bad joke I know, Being an American I'm still working out that whole North South thing.

Ok, forget the pole line. It's over my head anyway.

I would like to give a super special achievement award to Rollst and Jeff.

This special award is awarded simply because Rollst and Jeff have achieved and won a gold medal for being especially and unusually fuked up.
