    Typical Australians!

I had one try to have a go at me at that Zoo Australia place (or is it Australia Zoo??). I bravely stood my ground. On the viewing platform. Behind the wire fence.

Is that what you do, out in the outback. Annoy them until they attack.

You lot were so against bull fighting on other threads, i think this is almost the same sort of thing.

But with birds, which - so sorry. Bulls are much more macho.

I'd be bad tempered too if somebody attacked me with a life size gollywog.

    "Beautiful plumage".

And does this happen every week, bird fighting? Do you place bets on the purty one?

Interesting. Living in the middle of Europe in a non European country, i just love learning about other cultures!! This has taken the buscuit!! I can't spell biskit.

Odd people those bogans. And their ways of life. But always polite. I hope the guy in the vid got a claw in him.

yes - normally on sundays we will throw a cassowary and a crocodile into a pit and they will fight to the death

on special days a tiger shark is added

    Complaint letter.

I was told to keep away from the dropbears, i have to cover my body in vegemite.

This is against my Marmite religion, do the bears know the difference? Will the bear start foaming at the mouth. And try to bite me? Do i need to have a tetanus shot before going there? Life Insurance? Can my body be repatriated? GoFundPats - 20 quid!!

I can see myself, stuck in the middle of nowhere with only a kangaroo and a camel as friends. Do they speak English? Or some sort of dialect?

Can you turn off the heat? Or Snow if i get my seasons mixed up.

    Signed

    Pats

In the end. It would be the spiders that would freak me out over there, and the snakes and things. Mostly the spiders. Cannot do spiders.

Bedwetters, aka pommy and frog backpackers often call out in panic and want the
typical manly Aussie man or coppers to come and rescue the sooks when they discover
some great big champion spiders have moved into their vans.

My Irish ancestry is the most Royal of all , Grandad was in a special forces unit in WW one, slipping behind evil enemy lines , to keep Great Britain free .
The esteemed regiment that Grandad commanded was the "Black n Tans"

I purchased a one month subscription to Ancestry.com for $30 and was not disappointed. You could say I hit a small jackpot ! I found photos of family members which I had never seen, including my grandfather's grandfather, who had come out from Ireland in the early 1800s and died here in Oz almost 100 years later.

This is the power of the internet.... it can put us in touch with others who have already done all the hard work !

Loy Toy, I will be doing this again very soon. If you trust me with a few names and dates, I'd be happy to look up some of your ancestors using the few skills I developed. I promise to never reveal your name or details to anyone.

In fact, you can get a slight preview on that website, by putting in details and they then tell you if they do have records for that person (before then putting the bite on you for $ ).

I know my dad and know his and my ancestors going back to the 1,300s but the Irish half of me is interested to learn more.

Is this wrong and I cannot do a question mark on this fucking computer.

My grandmother's maiden name was Patterson and I believe she was related to this guy.

THE PATTERSONS: AN IRISH FAMILY ODYSSEY | The Irish Story
As an Aussie with a Paterson grandparent, you might look for Banjo Patterson in your ancestry. Much better than being somewhat related to an ancient American soldier.
    IMHO.

I must admit I am extremely impressed with the Irish blood leak globally and their ability to set up businesses and be respected by their first tier competitors especially the mafia.

When you look at the development of business globally and in the early days the Irish were streets ahead of the Poms, Welsh and Jocks.

    Balls and nothing more.............

    Onya.

Irish can't play rugby, can't play soccer, can't play cricket, fight anyone at the drop of a hat, fight each other if there's no one else around, and are gay as Xmas, one reason other than the potato famine for Irish immigration to USA and the English colonies.

Even Oz's great bushwacker hero Ned Kelly, of Irish descent was gay, along with his gang.

England has the most gay gangsters. Dominic Noonan, The Krays, and I'm sure the rest are in the closet.
