I would like to argue with you on that point, but I fear I'd lose...

I prefer not to buy Chinese goods given the option. But, I'm not often given the option. I could buy UK made goods only, but: 1) they'd be crap and fall to pieces; 2) my house would be quite empty.

I bought a king size bed and mattress on impulse a few months ago - took a while to deliver etc. Its made from jarrah and a 'floating bed' and veryplain, simple.
After years on a queen size.

supplier pic - Got a better mattress to go on top - every night I thank myself for getting it.

I have and empty corner at the back of my bar since I built the kitchen extension out the other back corner.

Yesterday I saw an FB ad for those drum furniture and for the price decided it would fill the space while I decided what to really do with the space.

Seemed a wee bit dodgy due to being so cheap, but their page had loads of pics of furniture, loads of comments of interest and going back to last year.

So I decided to take a punt and I contacted them around 8pm last night. They said 2-3 days shipping to SKL for 399b or free if more than one set.

I'm thinking this is too cheap but fk it, take the gamble. I have the name on the bank account after all.

This morning around 0730 they have sent me a pic of the furniture (apparently) being loaded.

Then they message me to say:

Customers have to transfer the paint insurance fee for an additional 1,900.The cost of insurance is 1,900 baht.return when the product arrives because it is propertyvaluable )Product dropped, did not receive the product.Within 3 days after orderingCompensation insurance for all money back.customer

This money will be refunded when the product arrives.Just take a photo and send it via chat and let me know.Account number, come on.The product will be transferred back. give it to customers

Followed by the bank details again.

I'm not sure about this, and I'm ready for bed, so I ignore it.

I wake up to:

Disturbing you to pay another 1900 baht for insurance. The shop is waiting for delivery.

The shop is waiting for delivery. Please pay 1900 baht.

Insurance has not paid yet

Then the account number again

So I reply:

"If the money is refund after delivery, then the shop must pay the insurance. It is your job to make sure the set arrives to me in good condition."

No reply.

It's not looking good.

I read something on reddit the other week about how many scams are on that Facebook marketplace and to only buy off there if you are gonna pick up and pay in person

Yeah I paid, by transfer. It's not a big deal financially but I have told them I will report them to the police if they don't refund me. I have their bank account name and details to go by. Not sure if that even helps.

I think it's legit.

I've managed to get into one of those photos and find out the date and uncover a few other details on there

However, be wary of a load of rocks under all that cardboard and a certain 1980's mahogany TV cabinet that needs a bit of TLC

No idea if that is also a scam or not.
