Well, no, not really. I sold the Chevy cos something had to give. Glad the Escort went before the Everest came up tho.

Don't forget the Escort was a 4 door, 1300L. The thing was faster in reverse and took 30 mins to warm up before it could go anywhere. And as I said, taking up my spare parking space which is usually a money making space.

The Fox badge says otherwise, but whatever, it's good for it and I have a tough like an elephant when it comes to any throttle.

My mate put his Ranger 3.2 Wildtrak up for sale. I’ve been trying to buy this off him for years but then he came up with a very nice price and it was a tough call, but the Chevy had to go and so did the Escort:

But made it happen and here she is:

Then my mate texts me asking why I didn’t buy his Everest that has been sitting for a year since he moved back to Canada. A very nice price was offered.

So, Ford Everest Titanium Plus 3.2 was collected at Udon Airport on arrival for my Work hitch:

Ill ride it back to Songkhla at the end of my hitch and see if the Mrs takes to it. But she’s a bit pissed at me and sais she doesn’t want a big car because she loves her wee jazz. So I’ll probably flip if that’s the case.

These Fords are really something though.
What kind of running gear in that ranger ? Looks sharp. I owned 2 Rangers in my time. The last one got stolen on my birthday

Not sure exactly what shocks my mate upgraded to but the receipt is in the glove box. He upgraded to 12 pot brakes too, tried to put the originals back on so he could bring them with him onto his next gen Ranger but it turned out they're not compatible haha.

When I returned home on Wednesday night, after a tiring day, the wife mentioned her friend and husband had invited us to join them for a paddle in their canoe to collect some fresh water mussels. I muttered agreement to the idea as I slumped onto the sofa before bed.

Come Friday, it turns out the 'paddle in their canoe' is in fact a 30km trek down the River Danube and there will be five of us and the canoe is for three people. Just turn this into reality, there's a good chap...as is the way of our better halves.

    So today I bought this...

...along with a couple of life jackets and some bits and pieces to make the adventure happen.

The wife can't even swim, but she was in a similar inflatable during our trip to Croatia last year.

I forgot waterproof containers so no DSLR on the trip, just the mobile in a plastic bag.

Nice buy mate, that'll be fun.

Are you gonna paddle back up or will the current be too strong?

^ Current is too strong and it'll take 5 hours or so to trundle downstream. We will park a car at the destination to get us back to the start. It's a trip between two beer gardens and I have a feeling we'll deserve a beer or two at the end.

    Nice planning!

Always fancied doing a trip like that, those canoes are about £500 in Decathlon near us.
Much comfier than the old fashioned fibreglass ones.

You gonna do a pic thread?

^ Not quite so expensive here, reduced from E384 to E299.99. We have only just got back so will have to wait for the photos.

Sounds like a good trip. That's proper planning to have the pubs at either end.

Yes it's wrapped. The price was 17k and he quoted me the same for a Honda Jazz.

If your vehicle is in mint condition, like new for example, then it'll only cost 17k.

My truck had bad paint and at one point had been in an accident and ended up on it's side. There had been some 'home-made' paint repair.

So it had to go to the body shop first where they stripped old paint and repaired the body, smoothed, primer and undercoat (white) so if I remove the wrap it's ready to paint any colour.

Body shop cost me 21k but it was worth it and it was dome properly.

This is Songkhla remember and I have a very good english speaking mechanic that outsources all the work for me and keeps an eye on things. You might struggle for these prices in in Patts.

I have pics of the process, if you're interested.
