I did think about humidity I will run it with the air con going to dry out the place first.

I miss having access to decent bread.

One reason I have been slow to upgrade is that I used to own a Stihl petrol chainsaw and it saw a lot of action over 20 years. My brother just had it overhauled and it is still going strong. I always treated that thing with respect, it could do you a lot of damage if you lost control in any way, even with a brake designed to act if the machine jumped and with teeth underneath to engage with the log being cut. It was always two-handed control. Also it had a hard cover for the guide bar so the cutting chain was not exposed when you carried it around.
These electric jobs like the one I have now have no safety features and seem intended for one-handed use - yet they could still take pieces off you if you mishandled them. So I am still deciding whether or not to buy another one.

OK, the 11.5 incher had its maiden venture today, though in the hands of an actual gardener M'Sahib had pressed into service to remove what is/was quite a largish tree at the rear of our place. Trunk as cut in sections from the top, with it being 12 to 14 inches in diameter at the bottom. Pretty much a hot knife through butter type performance, so has proved its worth. The photos are at the base of the tree.

hard to see much - there is a fat white bloke in the way
