I have a similar torch. Really a versatile tool. Can solder remotely if need be, can sweat copper and works great for big gauge wire soldering. Plus great for shrink tube. I use mine frequently.

Good to hear, I am sure it will come in useful out in the field. They only go for 600baht so no massive dent either.

I'd welcome some input here. The gf sometimes has trouble sleeping so on impulse I bought this elephant thing on Lazada together with some lavender oil. Thought I'd get a bit new age and try the aromatherapy approach. I'm not sure that it made a lot of difference to her although the room smelt nice, if you like lavender.

The heat source is, or was, an old school electric light bulb. Made in China, after a few times of being used the bulb blew. The only replacements I could find were low wattage things they use sometimes in decorative lighting.

Of course, these bulbs do not heat up the ceramic dish sufficiently to have any aromatherapeutic effect. I need about 40W. Nowehere seems to sell 20W+ incandescent bulbs any more. LED is great for the planet but useless for heating an elephant. Looked in shops and on line, so far without success. I asked the gf to find the original supplier, so far she hasn't managed that. I need one of these, G40 E27, about 40W:

Does anybody know where I can get a small, round, 40W incandescent light bulb with a large Edison screw fitting?

Not keen on naked flames in the bedroom. Especially old flames. I thought electric was the way to go.

I had one in my room when I was at university. It smelled nice (lavender) but it made no difference to my sleeping. As per MM's post, I used tea lights.

There are a reported number of approximately 2000 tigers up there in the north west. I, for one, would not be running in the hash club up there. No thank you, Sir.

Well my wifes friend called from BKK the other day and told her that Villa had just received a large shipment of cheese. I hadn't been buying much online because they had been shipping product close the shelf life expiration date. All of these are good until July/ Aug so I said " Order up".

Got me one of those snow foam lances:

*Not mine, don't have a pic

**Currently driving cars to get them dirty so I have an excuse to cover them in that oddly satisfying blanket of foam

Got a question on those Ant as I have seen them but never used. What's the purpose unless you cover the car in foam then hand scrub it with a mitt and wash it all off. Or do you just spray on the foam and hose it off? Seems really messy. I am an old school guy and hand wash with a soft mitt with a Meguiars Gold car soap.

The idea is that it's like a pre-wash: spray it on and then just let it sit and fall off itself, hopefully lifting and taking dirt etc. with it, and then proceed to the usual wash routine.

The problem sometimes with just rinse and washing is you can end up basically just smearing dirt around in patches and scratching the paint.

Long story short, it's for really anal retentive types.

Yeah I would think it could be a problem since you really can't see what's under it. I usually wash my truck with a good full rinse first to get the mud off. Powerwash the under carriage then a nice wash with a mitt.

My wife says I sometimes I pay more attention to my truck then her. Washing and detailing cars is quite relaxing. Nice day, cold beer, music.

What is wrong with you people?

my local wash shop can wash and wax my bike for 150 baht and the can inside and out for 200 baht.

Im talking about that full foam spray shit, then 8 people coming around and hand cleaning every square millimeter then drying and waxing the fucker in no more than 40 mins while I sit in my bar and catch up on Sky Sports News.

How much time do you spend on this shit?
    Lang may yer lum reek...

I can get my truck washed, cleaned and done for about 250 bht. I think you miss the point though. I like doing it and usually have a few beers in the process and my dogs love getting sprayed from the hose. It's relaxing.

I will say however, I do not wash my wife's Pajero. I just drop it off nearby and they call when done.
