Maybe a new thread could be created about what we'd like to buy, like motorbikes - nice idea.

Impulse buy or still a wish? Impressive looking bike . . . plus the 'iphone dry bag' is a must-have.

I was reading in the Daily Mail that after September 28th, if you want to drive your British car on the Continent you need a 'UK' bumper sticker as the 'GB' stickers are no longer any good. Another consequence of Brexit.

I went on Amazon and bought a load of GB stickers and GB magnetic plates. I missed out on Bitcoin but I reckon these could be worth a fair bit in a few years time.

ok - I was a little confused - the pubic hair trimmer is not a shaver as well

you need to use the normal safety shaver for the shaving bit

The boys were rapt with curiosity at my new impulse buy... What can it be?

    Show us your impulse buy-img_20211001_212608-jpg

This was a true impulse buy. I went shopping for a phone with a bigger screen but the now discontinued 6.9 inch Mi Max seems to be the biggest phone that will ever exist. The 7 inch ceiling remains unbroken some 3 years after the Xiaomi monster.

So then I thought maybe I should look into a small tablet with a sim slot. These do exist but no tablets seem to currently have the good cameras that phones currently come with. So my search was drying up. But then I changed tack and ended up shopping for a tablet instead and may go to a smaller 6.5 inch phone with a better camera when the Mi Max kicks it.

So this is a brand new Microsoft Surface Pro 5 that I picked up for A$475. That is a knockout bargain. 12.3 inch Windows 10 tablet with the 2736 × 1824 resolution giving a perfect picture at a great 3:2 aspect ratio. The new phones screen size claims are a con. They make their screens bigger by making them longer but they are too narrow.

    Show us your impulse buy-img_20211001_224201-jpg

The Surface Pro is currently up to version 7 but new 5s can still be had. The 7 retails for around $2000

The 5 is the sweet spot since the SP came of age with version 4 but then 5 went fan-less like an iPad if you got a core M3 or Core i5 (Core i7 still has a fan). This is the Core i5. It was advertised with 4GB of RAM but when I fired it up it actually has 8Gb of RAM. The eBay seller must have got the specs wrong.

Only took 10 minutes to get up and running and it is virtually a desktop in your lap since I can connect a USB wireless keybpoard and mouse when I am at my desk.

The boys were stoked for their regular Friday Night Nazi Party once they had had a play with the new toy

This 37mm Flakpanzer Mobelwagon is again based on the Panzer IV like the Ostwind Flakpanzer to the right.

On the left is the soviet Su-122 self-propelled howitzer based on a T-34 chassis with a fearsome firing range of 12km

    This internet is awesome.

Yesterday I started a new 24 lecture course in neurology under the tutelage of Professor Jeanette Norden, Ph.D.

And today I learned how to do the Macarena on Youtube...

I don't know which I am more stoked about!

As a young teen at the time, one does recall a certain newly found interest towards ethnic diversification, particularly that of an African persuasion, at around the 50 second mark.

Doing some Chrissie shopping on the Apple site for phones for the girls and saw this . . . had to get and arrived today. The youngest has a pair and the sound is very, very good.

Some of the things about Apple products which make them stand out are that attention to detail, visual impact and quality . . . and this includes the packaging:

. . . and five days shipping from Vietnam. Not bad at all.

@eddie/ luigi - against my better judgement, I clicked on that Macarena vid. Now I have an earworm (last song syndrome).

The Macarena was a big thing here in PH when it first hit the airwaves. The orig version didn't have the female English part, it was in all in Spanish. We (Filipinos) didn't care, we danced to it anyway. (Yes, I can dance the Macarena!)

A Fish feeder because feeding the fish every day was hard work that challenged my intellectual capacity.
Every day at 7am , 12 pm, and 5 pm it dispenses food for the fish.
7 am, 12 pm and 5 pm are the highlights of my day. I just sit there and watch it do it's thing. as i descend into madness.
    Very entertaining!!

It is well established on TD that if there are no pictures then it isn't true.

That's a great idea for when you are away BB, how many days will it do? I suppose you could elongate the hopper to extend feeding capacity.

That's why I got it, We plan to go away as soon as I get my passport back from being renewed . I was going to wait until the spring but I dont see alot of options in my area for a vaccine booster, and I do have some business to take care of in Greece.
Extending the hopper is a great idea that did not occur to me. It should be easy enough. The fish feeder works both by batter and home power, so unless it brakes down, it would dispense indefinitely . The electronics can be set for up to 6 feedings per day, and each feeding quantity can be adjusted by 6 increments.
I need to bolt it down (it has brackets for that ) so the dogs don't knock it down. or worst, into the pond.

A 'bolster' pillow I think they call them.

The wife's got one in our bed at home. She either cuddles it or uses it as a barrier. Either way I'm not too keen on them.

Wife has a pair and I tried them once , Fantastic sound quality.
I would get a pair, if I was not blowing all of my discretionary budget on those damn fish LOL
where did you order them from? or do you think I would be better of waiting until I went back to the US.
