Nearing the end of my work hitch it's always nice to go home to a few new toys.

I bought a drone, DJI Mini 2 Combo. It reads like it's the best drone available under $500, although I got the combo with extra batteries etc for around $580.

I bought it for photo and video purposes.

I also bought a new lid. I've been lacking a proper helmet since forever. I hate riding with full face helmets but still understand the importance of it. I can't stand the flip up ones either. So now Bell have came out with the Broozer helmet that has the best of both worlds while being DOT certified and the American standard also. Chin bar on for long rides, off for potting about town.

    ^lol!

I did feel a bit sheepish taking them up to the checkout

I reassured myself that the checkout girl would just assume they were for my daughter

But I did get the feeling she was looking at me funny and that she suspected (correctly) that I did not have a daughter

Two and a Half Men has long been one my favourite comedy shows and I've often thought how great Charlie Harper's life is... a bit like Looper's but even better.

I will probably never have a life like Charlie's, but at least I can have a shirt like his.

Tonight I bought meself a retro bowling shirt, just like Charlie Harper wears. I can pick it up at my mum's in a few months time.

And in profile... this gives me something to aim for.

Perhaps a cardigan in the style of The Dude may have been more down your alley.

That shirt will need some accompanying footwear to match Mendip!

Get yourself some Paul Weller red, white and blue bowling shoes.

Reminds me of a trip myself and a mate has to a bowling alley in the late 80's.
We took are crappiest shoes and swapped them for some cool bowling shoes, was a right giggle at the time.

The embarrassing part was when my old man turned up on holiday in tenerife to visit me when I was working there wearing said footwear.
We were in a bar with my colleagues when he lifted his leg sat down and everyone noticed the bowling size number on the sole.
How they laughed and took the piss.
    Magic moments
    Shalom

I think you should keep going until you have a feature wall of these.

That’s about the only way I think they could go to good use without opening the boxes.

I’ve got a really bad feeling my drone will refuse to take off, due to the fact I live about 500m from a military runway.

    Fingers crossed.

Actually it's starting to look a bit like I'm gonna need some shelving of some description:

Fellow drone pilot here DD, if that is indeed the truth, the DJI software will immediately fire off alarms about restricted airspace once you get up about 40 ft. Coupled with that the military base will locate it quickly. Best to take it at least 5 miles away to fly it.

    Good Luck

Yeah that's what I heard. So does that mean I can fly up to 40ft?

My mate has a proper fancy one and he came round and made a promo video for the builder of the moo ban. He didn't have any issues.

What will they do about it?

Cos I was gonna fly a bag full of flour and mixed herbs over to a mate's house to film his reaction.

Depends on what they want to do, its Thailand you know. Most cases that I have heard is they confiscate them especially if you haven't registered it with the Thai aviation. I flew mine once on an island and apparently it was a no fly zone. I landed and the resort manager came up to our room later with a cop. I showed him my reg papers. He told me not to fly on the other side of the bay. I assume there must have been some hidden military radar tracking system there.

I'd fly it fast and low.
