Christ, calm down snubby.
Go and blow up a tank online or something, eh?
That seems like a lot, of course it depends how many parts are replaced. I get mine serviced in Hong Kong once every couple of decades, whether it needs it or not.
My 'glass' is actually plastic and scratches easily, there is no crystal alternative, I think I am on my fourth 'glass'. My last service was nearly ten years ago and as far as I can remember they changed the glass and the winder. That cost about GBP200/B10,000 equivalent.
The Rolex operation in HK is very big, I believe all servicing is handled in HK. If you happen to pass that way regularly then HK might be a cheaper option than Bangkok, drop it off one trip and pick it up on the next.
On old Rolexes you have to be careful if anything about it is collectable. In some cases better to leave in original state. When Rolex services a watch it replaces all damaged parts with new current parts and becuase of conterfiting will not return any original parts to the owner. For example Rollex used make watches for Tiffany under contract, these watches had both the Rollex and Tiffany Logo on the faceplate and are worth 6 figures in almost any condition. So if Rollex replaces the original faceplate with a new one without the Tiffany Logo. The watch would become just an old Rollex. So in a case like that you would want to have the watch serviced non-Rollex and keep all parts original.
Whoa damn, what a score. Need one for my new back deck.
Semi-slicks / track tires... For the car I haven't seen for 3 months
Inspired by my recent success I had a bit of a splurge on some more model cars today. Still can't find one in the right scale to use for my RX3 that isn't ridiculously expensive--seriously, some I've seen go for around US$500!!
I've been looking for a small matchbox style car of mine for years. Finally found one but the wrong colour. Maybe aNissan March isn't sexy enough??!
^ Think bubblegum pink is quite a rare colour.
My mother's first car, about 60 years ago, was a Vauxhall Cresta. She was very proud to have joined the middle-class car owning set. So proud that she bought a die-cast model and hand-painted it in the two-tone blue of her car.
I can't remember what I did last week but I still remember the registration number of that car.
My memory is also strange sometimes. I can remember going to Northern Ireland in the 1980s. I can remember being there and I can remember some things I did and some of what I saw. However, I have no recollection of how I got there or how I got back. Plane, or bus, car or van with a ferry ride?
If the car was in the UK you can find out more info here by inserting the reg number.
