The wife's screen went a bit dicky, so I gave her my 27" LG widescreen - really nice it is, so she's very happy with that.

Of course, that gave me an opportunity to get a new screen meself.

I picked up a Samsung curved 32 inch 2560x1440 144hz refresh rate, and it's great - If somewhat larger than I need for my desk! I looked around loads of places and the 4k stuff was silly prices... In the 4th shop, I found this, last in stock (most places had sold out), display model (in perfect condition) which I got for 9,000 Thai baht, about $285 or £225. It's a CJG53-32 if that means anything, probably more of a gaming screen than I need, but the picture looks great due to the refresh rate, and it's f'kin huge as a desktop monitor... It's a 4:3 display, so very different from the LG I had - this'll take some getting use to.

Yanked off one grinder wheel and added a wire wheel. Man strips and clean the metal before welding so nice.

    555. I could see how that could be funny. Never called my junk a Grinder though.

The wire wheel works outstanding. Cleaned up a bunch of metal strips yesterday. Going to make some wall brackets.

Online purchases are virtually daily now, the boredom has set in...

    Today's arrival:

The plan is, as we haven't got an oven, to try and make a Sunday chunk of beef/lamb/pork/chicken with some roast potatoes.

I cooked a T'Bone steak last night in my fryer and it was perfect.

Just brushed both sides with olive oil, a bit of salt and pepper and 20 minutes at 120 degrees C.

Why, when you can fry one in 2 minutes?

I was drinking beer at the time and was test driving the fryer with a T'Bone.

Surprisingly very good and extremely tender.

Thanks for the support - I'm quietly hoping the wife is gonna do something spectacular! As soon as she gets the hang of it, I'm gonna pop up the butchers and get a nice expensive bit of H-bone beef for her to roast...

With all this talk about 'skillets' on the food threads, I looked up what it was, and ordered one from Lazada. The beauty arrived this morning.

It has apparently been 'pre-seasoned', but I think I may do some more 'seasoning' myself before risking using it.

Today I've just been looking at it... and I think I'll do the same tomorrow!

I've got a toastie machine on the way. The 10year old cheese stuck on the old one was just getting a bit too thick.

^ I don't think you have to season a toastie maker mate?

I need a new toastie maker but the biggest problem I've found is that the Farmhouse bread in Thailand is too small and you can't stop the cheese leaks.

Oh, is that why it leaks? They never come out as good as I think they did in the UK..
