I did see it is 4k resolution but again wasn't as big a selling point to me as the size and features. I generally DL all my own content in 1080p and on rare occasion 2160p but files sizes are huge. I have a 55" Curve in our room and its resolution clarity is beautiful. I also wanted a flat slim to mount on the wall.
@ Dil Yep. I was zipping through the internet checking prices on my phone and saw you can get a much better deal in US off Amazon if I lived there.. Wife showed the sales guys that and it didn't fly. 55
That said, overall price is pretty good for a 75". Clearly they are making room for the 2020 models which sell for upwards 100k bht as I checked those as well while wife was beating then down on price more.
That's a great buy. Amazing how cheap they've become these days -- I still remember seeing one of the first gen flat screens in a shop for B499,999Originally Posted by JPPR2
As for resolution I use Videostream with Chromecast that has the option to downgrade the pic (from 1080p to 720p) and so on if it's not stable or stuttering. Honestly for me I can barely even notice the difference until the very rare occasions it's on 420 or so (caveat to that though, I'm blind as fuck )
Similar, but not the same though.
4K vs. UHD: What's the difference? - ExtremeTech
No, not really, Dilly - sorry.
HD is errm, HD. Something like 780p or 1280x920. But, it depends on many factors such as the screen ratio.
UHD just means better than HD and can be many things (including 4k, but it isn't 4k per so). For example, my LG screen, which isn't 4k, is called a UHD screen by LG; due to the 21:9 aspect ratio it is 2560x1080 - better than HD, but not 4k. IT's a good screen, but nowhere near the crispness of 4k.
4k is usually explained as either 3840x2160 (UHD 4K if you like) or 4096x2160 (real 4K if you like) - it's virtually double my UHD hence why it's so much sharper - especially on a big screen such as JPPR2's.
Having said that, here's another definition (which supports Dilly's statement) - just different usage of terms (I was in the post-production business for 15 years, film/tv industries, so 4K really meant 4K due to the additional elements of the standards whereas electronics manufacturers take artistic license with the terms to help drive sales:
Basically, UHD can range massively between slightly better than HD (as in my screen's case) to very close to 4K as in JPPR2s case.
So:
1) Dilly is wrong.
2) Dilly is right.
3) JPPR's screen is a good 'un, better than I initial thought because I was just thinking about my UHD screen (which is pretty low res)... JPPR2 got a good buy, a great screen, pretty much 4K (not 4K, but really close, so you get very nearly all the quality advantages).
4) Manufacturers are pretty cheeky with their use of the terms UHD and 4K.

Cycling should be banned!!!
^ I'm not sure I agree with the 'Fuk me' part of the above comments.
As for the balance ... carry on
Oh look! Tootie's here, but interested in something other than the topic.
Namely, settling in for another mega session of being a hypocritical biatch.
^ Ironic, given your post is a completely off-topic shit-sult.
Still waiting for TV shows and movie torrents to be 4k before buying a 4k TV.
At least by the time that happens I'll be buying a 75 inch as opposed to the planned 65 inch.
The trusty 55 and 65 inch 1080p TVs are sufficing til then.
Can you save me having to click on the link by explaining it in 10 words or less?
Good small good big.

So Dill did his eyes in after 10 years of sitting 5 cm from his 14 inch. Got it.
^ swinger's party?
Hang on, that's me fookin' sofa!
Bloodyhell, Dilly's on the loose again...
