I didn't really need a new fountain pen, I have several, but I liked the look and feel of the Kaweco AL Sport. They have a cheaper plastic version but it was too light, this aluminium one is a better weight and writes really well.

    Show us your impulse buy-kaweco_al_sport-jpg

It takes standard international cartridge and you can buy a converter if you prefer bottled ink.

I guess I'm old fashioned in this day and age, but I still use a log book at work and use a fountain pen and pencil to write up all my work.

BTW I got stopped at security on the way out of Bangkok on Thursday due to ink cartridges, the girl seemed to think they were some kind of ammunition...

I've always found it easier to write with a fountain pen than a biro.

^ It was the method employed to get me to write with my right hand. I was naturally left handed until I was told to write with a fountain pen.

I am left-handed and learnt to write at school with a fountain pen (wet ink). This is why I write like a total twat with my left hand contorted like a spider high on yaba....

I usually use a computer keyboard nowadays, but my students have to endure my terrible squiggles on the whiteboard!

I am getting a sense that your dolloramas are not the only time dressing up in uniform for playacting is done Loops.

Are you involved with an Aussie offshoot involving only foreign ladies?

...empty handed today. Nothing to show. I felt a Crimbly impulse. I heard rumours that Crimble sparkles are gearing up.

Tesco had the tins of quality street/Roses/Sensations in their stores in August.

Most pubs have Xmas trees put up here now, advertising their Xmas menu.

Well not an impulse but more a necessity. My personal Dell laptop had an issue and is off on repair. However I decided to purchase a PC tower and break from having a laptop for my daily personal computer. I have my work Laptop for mobility so no real need for a lappy at the office. After some research I went with a Lenova IdeaCentre 5 I7 16gb/ 2 TB HD. Price is fair for what it is and I got it in 1 day delivered. Pretty compact and loaded with options

My battery saw is a brilliant piece of kit for smaller jobs. Just so handy not having to coax a petrol engine to life.

But when you really want to get your Texas massacre mojo on you need to go petrol...

I love the smell of 2-stroke in the morning. 20 inch bar on this bad boy gives it a bit more reach for thick logs. What a berserk and beautiful racket a petrol saw makes ringing out through the forest.

I managed to pinch it on its first try-out but it is easy to get a saw free of you have a second one to fall back on.

The battery saw feels like a little toy after tearing up logs with the Texas ripper.

I've been on a fishing trip today Nev and have been wearing my old work fleece all day.

Wet and cool... it's been just like England in June.
