Please Take The Dogs - I have to go

Through some sad turn of events, my Thai days are finished. (At least for 4 years).
Specialist told me I will be dead in 4 months without treatment not available to me in Thailand, yep, 4 months at best. All going well I will survive and be around for years to annoy my Mrs It's going to be many years of hell though !

Moving the human family is easy, our 4 legged not so much. 6 months quarantine cost are going to blow out and also the stress of that on our pets is not fair.

So we are looking for a home for our two dogs as the in-law option is now un-workible. These are house trained and well manured. Don't rip the place up, happy to sleep out side but often just at home in the bedroom. Come when called and both live and adore the cat, (seriously). Grown up with kids and their friends terrorizing them.
They are alert, bark at werriods, one of the two girls really stands her ground to strangers but never bitten. They have both been spade, 6yo & 7yo. It really breaks me up leaving them, but I know do believe they will respond well to genuine care.

They are currently located in Chonburi.

We are looking for a loving home, fast.

1 - If the dogs already have rabies shots up to date, then for most countries in the world they need a blood test and wait 90 days and they can travel with no quarantine so can they wait it out with the in laws? If no rabies shots, then add another 31 days to that.

2 - If you are moving to the UK, you can fly them to Paris CDG for 200 USD per dog all in as checked in baggage saving you thousands. You then pick them up from there and through the tunnel. It's what I did, and as soon as they are in the UK a vet will change the 3rd country vet certs to a pet passport. They need to fly with someone, so if not you, then time it with a good friend travelling.

3 - Does your wife have her visa yet? If not and she is Thai, that can take up to 3 months anyway.

If you still want to leave the dogs, then people will need to know where you are, what the dogs are, size etc etc

PM me if you want more details of getting your dogs to the UK and I will talk you through it. It is very simple once you ignore all of the bullshit the UK insist upon, and use the EU rules instead.

Very good point Dilli. Maybe I was a little suspicious about the "4 months" bit being exactly the same amount of time needed to move dogs out of Thailand to western countries, the lack of details, and the idea that there are medical treatments in the west not available in Thailand.

However, that being said, and assuming that the bloke will never come back again anyway, I posted up information that might help him or others, and I hope he gets better soon.

Thanks folkes, Have decided to take one with us, the other is likely to live several years according to the vet. (She is fat now) It's to Oz, it is a very expensive process.

They have to fly cargo only, Thailand is a non approved country so have to go to Malaysia or Singapore to do checks. Taking the cat as well.
And yes, I can not be treated medically in Thailand as it is not supported and even if it did, after the complete cluster F mis diagnosis, I don't think I would want to even try. Overall it is sad to be leaving, but that is the only chance of survival I have.

Why not? The Kitchen forum could do with more new threads because I'm not clicking on anything titled Luigi's 18 Incher no matter what section he thrusts it into.

    Good luck with it all.

One word of advice, check, double check, triple check EVERYTHING the Thai vet does and writes and does, including the use by dates on any injection and the stickers that they stick onto the Vacs record book. Moving my dogs, all went like a breeze until i got to the government vet the 2 days before flying only to then see that the vet had put out of date Rabies vacs into them. The government vets guys are REALLY helpful though and found a solution that worked getting into France, but would not into the UK or Aus. They are very thorough though - one dog had 1 tick, and for that we had to go to the local vets and get that one an injection.

Bloody hell... if your dogs haven't had Rabies jabs in the last year, then this is a nightmare of a schedule.

This is where to get the kennel from by the way.
