XRP getting delisted from some exchanges due to legal uncertainty. At the other end of the coin spectrum some privacy coins XMR, Zcash, DASH also getting delisted for the same reason. Now there's large investment firms buying BTC. Crypto has certainly lost it's way from the original idea of decentralised crypto-anarchy and be your own bank. Now it's centralised mining, lawyers and big money. Pretty much opposite of the original philosophies.

Still it's a speculative asset and I expect it will continue to pump & dump like Buttfluffer's favourite ladyboy in a short time room.
Some people think it don't, but it be.

the US wants to run the show

likely soon in the US you will not be able to withdraw from exchanges except to a whitelisted wallet

I don't think they're going the right way about it. When the internet was born the US took a hands off non-regulatory approach. A lot of people got burnt in the dotcom bust but the mostly American FAANG companies were free to innovate and eventually went on to dominate the world. This time round the US is using power to try shoehorn new tech into old paradigms and failing badly. Europe and East Asia have picked up the ball but it looks like they are not really certain what to do with it. Except China, they've just steamed ahead and created their own closed system digital currency that they'll use as another form of party control over their population and a potential weapon to exert influence over other countries.

which also misses the point entirely - if it is not decentralized with a fixed supply and some reward for the processors then it will be just another kneejerk without a future

only truly decentralized coins will survive and innovate - the common centralized token will fail - just like tether will
