One of the major US finance houses (City?) recently predicted 300k by E2021, ARK stumped for 400k, while one WS analyst last month called 20-30x it's current price which was 20k; I expect 100k, but could live with the burden of the lowest of those figures.
As Buffet's ego gets the better of him to stand by and choke on his 'algorithm-shmalgorithm' putdown of crypto, hedge fund Micro-something recently upped their holding to $1b with >13k (?) btc at $21k, Paypal accepts crypto, but biggest clue for those still needing a clue, is the bankers sitting around, almost certainly discretely stockpiling while shaking their heads behind dark glasses, waiting for someone else to break cover at which point btc could quickly hit $40-50k.
And of course something to comfort the vocal detractors: Maybe it won't hit even 100k next year.
You gotta feel for the lads that bought at 18 then sold at 5.

"I wish I had kept my 1,700 BTC @ $0.06 instead of selling them at $0.30, now that they're $8.00." - Greg Schoen, May 17 2011
BTC leads the charge both ways and alts follow, but just mho, aside from the premier league which will do incredibly well, 98-99% of the shitecoins being churned out target naive newbies in the grip of fomo, with some fabulous tale as to why it will rocket to the moon and beyond, though in reality they will end up worthless.
Meanwhile, baldrick would know better but from what I understand the tech is already available, and soon kids will be exchanging their crypto creations in the schoolyard like ciggy and gum cards in the old days.
Painting the tape
Illegal practice by traders who manipulate the market by buying and selling a security to create the illusion of high trading activity and to attract other traders who may push up the price.
Will take a drip out at 30k.
Some gold label and a walk through the hospital to see a nurse. Hurt me ankle dancing.
Nearly at $28k
You gonna get back in the game Dill?
Make back some of all the money you lost when pussying out at 5k
$28k+
Great run from $4k earlier in the year.
Ya onnit like a bonnet Sybzy?
No doubt the price is being manipulated, nothing new there, and in the case of btc it doesn't take too many to produce a run in either direction, so a large holder could supplement by shaving from pump/dump and dump/pump without risking their wad. While this is illegal in regulated markets, it's fair game in the unregulated crypto industry.
My view, and as ever could be wrong, is that vast amounts of money are waiting on the sidelines, and when the first major gov lends recognition by regulating crypto, assuming this is done with an iota of common sense and practicality, btc should leave five digits behind. Could be that the 'experts' mentioned earlier, among an increasing number of others now touting 100-400k/btc, are a tad optimistic, or sharks attracting fresh blood to feast on, but could also be they believe official recognition is only a matter of time.
