Depends on where you want to edit.

If it's in the Dog House, you can'r edit.
If the post is older than xx or has been quoted then you, usually, can't edit.

When you're jailed you can't post anywhere else than the Dog House and it ill state 'I am in jail' under yout nic, Your av (photo) will not be visible.
If you're barred from certain sections of he forum, like Speaker's Corner or the News Section, it will be written under your nic.

I can't see why you can't start new threads and you are posting in the lounge, so there shouldn't be a problem

For your reputation points click on 'User CP' top left of the screen
Now click on 'User Control Panel'

If you were under some sort of 'mod/posting-restriction' you wouldn't be able to see who gave you rep points.

I just gave you a green, you can see my nic.

Log out of TD, reboot your computer and try again.

Throw your laptop off the balcony or skip it like a stone over the country pond...
