Makro checking your Trolley after going through the Checkout.

I always walk out of makro, when the wife is paying the bill, as it annoys me, their policy of checking your trolley after you've just paid.

Yesterday I did the same as normal go out for a smoke before we head home.

My son comes out and tells me Mama is going ballistic inside, intrigued I head back and there she is giving it to them.

Seems the security have found goods not charged correctly, pork loin and pork ribs.

Wifey is blowing off, I've just paid for goods and now you're making me look like a thief, she is asking other customers around her if they thought it was right that these people are shaming you after their own employees can't do their jobs.

We'd just spent around 9,000 baht, and she giving it large telling them ok give me all money back and you won't see us here again.

    She got the money back.

Whilst I agree with her 100%, we now have to drive to Ubon now.

Must say I was really proud of her.

my son, on the other hand, ran a mile.

I suppose it's fair enough to check that their staff aren't giving away goods to friends or because of incompetence.

I stocked up on oatbran last week because the fools at Big C marked 100 bags of it down by 50%. When I asked what was wrong with the product they said its out of date.

Upon inspection the bags were out of date 071016. The fools thought it said 070116.

Makro aren't the only store to undertake this practice in Thailand. Obviously Thais don't trust their cashout operatives?

Happens in every major store i've been to in Udon and Sakonakhon. Has been as long as I can remember
However, I've only seen them look at the receipt and the plastic bags. Never known them to check each item.

Perhaps you should have escorted her out to save on the drama.

Nah I enjoyed it, seems she has been going around the village this morning, and all her friends agreed with her.

I'm proud of her as well HH, it is a stupid policy. Save the wages of the 4+ people who do the checking and instal property tills and cameras.

Sorry to say HH but they do the same checking thing in Ubon as well.

Memock we've never had the problem in Ubon, but always in Yasothon, the guys in Ubon just give a quick glance.

We prefer the Yaso store much better.

I must share the blame for teaching her farang ways.

Yaso stops you taking the trolley out, I've tried that that's why I leave before it happens now.

What's the kilometre difference of the drive to Ubon for you compared to Yasothorn ?

Jeez a sense of entitlement filtering into the thread.
In Makro Phuket it takes less than 30 seconds.
One time I got home and discovered that both checkers had missed 6 Aussie ribeye steaks I'd stacked in a corner of the trolley - they only half empty your trolley and check the remainder in situ.
I had no way of knowing they were not charged as the bin was in Thai.

So after an hour's drive I discovered this while unpacking with the missus checking the prices at home.

So we jumped in the car with the steaks and headed back to Makro ... Nah fuckem they make enough to cover their mistakes.
The steaks tasted twice as good!

Funny you should say that I was looking forward to the Barbeque ribs.

I'm considering getting a baseball cap, and a pair of shades and going back by myself.

But will the pointing finger be out.

    You may still be pulled
    off your trolley.

Best plan is actual casual like John Dillinger with a Stroller

Yup, an hours drive extra just to continue doing business with the same brand store further down the road.

Good on you, HH...thinking just like the kwai , simply blindingly brilliant.

    Who's the Buffalo now.
