I go for the HP sauce, blocks of cheese (yellow crack) and ribs, which as mentioned are good. Think the HiSo bird next door is fed up with my balcony BBQs. Wouldn't mind inviting her around for a spit roast

If I had the choice I wouldn't go to any of them, though were we live there isn't a choice.

One would think a chef with your skills could make a tasty meal out of anything in a local Thai market.

At least those in Makro are making a mostly honest living, if a somewhat plebeian one according to your exalted tastes.

You in contrast seem to revel in living with low life scum who haven't done an honest day's work in their lives.

Does this tie in well with your work experience in the foreign office?
Celia, you seem to be getting more neurotic by the day.

The subject under debate is the Thai obsession with security and saving themselves a few pennies at the cost of alienating their patrons.

    Do keep up petal.

555 let'ts not get back on the subject of Gullivers.

Insulting the customer for a mistake by the check out clerk. That and no plastic bags.

    Farangs really are so delicate.

Oh my God, stopping for 10 seconds so Little Brown Man can check that everything's in order is just too much to take. Getting back home to post on TD/TV and transfer the 'wife' her monthly salary just can't be put on hold.

Take it you do not even realise how stuff 9000 baht buys you here, and you're presuming it's ten seconds.

best to stick with your imaginary harem of beauties.

If not charged correctly then that really isn't her fault. So why the song and dance on her part? That is unless she got caught out which it sounds like to me. To do an indepth check like they did then they must have had cause. As many posters have said Yaso, the checkers only do a basic check. Your wife is a first regarding an indepth search.
Can you go back to the store and ask for their take on this story and publish it please?

Thankfully there are quite a few branches left as they gradually work their way down to Malaysia.

What would the 'security guard' know as to what price is what? He's just there to ensure all barcodes were scanned.

Some places you can get them to push the trolley to your car and return it for you. I still can't believe they actually looked inside one of the bags though.

At the old Marko in Phuket town they used to do that and help load the stuff into the car. I'd always flip the fellow a twenty baht note.

^Likewise at Foodland in Pattaya, it's a nice touch in customer service. I always flip the staff member 20 baht as well.
