A sportsman just off the cricket field being interviewed specifically about his performance on the field for a primarily male audience is quite a different thing. The context is completely wrong for some ad-lib flirting. The female interviewer knows the audience is primary male and it is just thoroughly embarrassing for everyone concerned.

I don't know who Nuala Hafner is but that is a totally different dynamic. A woman playfully asking a man if he is available is complimenting the man on his sexual attractiveness and risking her reputation not his.

A man propositioning a woman on TV is advertising that he is making a sexual play for her which is embarrassing for him, her and the audience if it is entirely out of the sort of context where that sort of approach might be entertained by a woman.
