The West's alliance with Russia and China is simply a mechanism whereby the latter two regimes will manipulate suppression with cynical abandon by labelling any resistance to their oppressive governments as "terrorist" and therefore their actions will be beyond reproach.

Saudi oil and the strategic significance of the Straits of Hormuz are receding in terms of importance to the world economy as the oil glut continues and, frankly, the entire Middle East theatre will diminish accordingly in significance.

The Muslim thing will eventually become a back water, in much the same way Africa is, and simply wither on the vine of world indifference.

Maintaining existing borders between Europe and the Middle East/Africa is paramount and once Johnny Turk gets with the programme, and we cauterise Libya from contact with the outside world, we can resume the status quo.

Israel will have to learn to negotiate and detach itself itself from its past primitivism too.

Turkey will not be getting with the programe and as the Palestinians have proved for over 60 years, they cannot be negotiated with. Killing Islamist's and grinding their supporters into submission is the only answer.
