It seems that most Thai women lose it when they reach 40 or close to 40
I have at least 4 local expats friends with wives in that age range who went completely psycho. Mine who used to be very reliable has suddenly turned into a complete nightmare, becoming and acting like a spoiled teenager after being a reliable housewife for so many years. It's very difficult and above all very painful to accept or understand that new situation, above all when it comes out of nowhere.
It usually goes like this:
1. They neglect the kids and leave them with the maids all day, so they can spend more time with their friends
2. Their friends is the group of harpies girlfriends, usually divorced or single, they hangout with and gossip all day about their husbands achievements and the assets they have under their control
3. They eventually start to go out more often at nights with that group, leaving families duties behind
4. They start to have side actions with other men when their husbands are out of the country for business. Apparently in the expat community this is quite common for Thai wives to act like this as they don't like to be left alone, even for a few days.
5. They want to keep face about their social status no matter what, and start to act like bargirls if they don't get what they need to support that status in front of their friends.
A couple of friends had their wives making death threats, stalking and acting psycho, and eventually leaving the home and leaving the kids behind so they can pursue a different lifestyle and have some fun. It seems complete irresponsible, and yet they think they can get away with it.
From loving mothers and housewife to spoiled teenagers with an ego and attitude, what could possibly trigger such a change ? hormones ? education ? bubble environment ? anyone else with that problem ?
apparently it gets worse after they hit 50 !!! no wonder men go after younger wives, the old ones are simply broken after a certain age. This is not what I had in mind for a Thai wife.
