Thailand the rest home

Within the Buddhist pantheon the idea that delusion causes suffering is well

established. I put the old man into a rest home because he was suffering from the

delusion that he could manage the mundane things of life such as cooking, shopping,

cleaning, and driving - but actually he couldn't. His dementia caused him to forget

even the most simplest of things like you got to add hot water to a cup with a tea

bag in it to actually make a drinkable cup of tea. The old bugger was getting totally

stressed out trying to figure it all out.

Well, I got to thinking that in the rest home he was now experiencing a stress free

life - no cooking, no cleaning, entertainment laid on, and getting his laundry done

too. He is now transformed from the man he was to a man who is now much more

relaxed and doesn't get aggressive and agitated like he used to. Of course this is

costing us the family over 25k Baht per week but for much much less I can have the

same stress free life in Thailand. This is why the ex pat Thai whingers set are quite happy

to pour a ton of shit on the host country but will not remove their sorry selves from

the source of their complaint . They are living in the big rest home of Thailand and

would actually be broke in their home country if they paid for the

same services they get for peanuts in Thailand. So they stay put. Roll on my

retirement age, though I refuse to join the pitiful, joyless and sad ranks of the ex pat Thai

whinger.

Well put stroll but a life where others do the mundane chores is preferable to the alternative. The whingers prefer to exploit their economic position which in their home countries would get them nowhere as they do not have an advantageous position but in Thailand their relatively generous income enables them to lord it over the natives and demand the lifestyle that is denied them in their home countries. Essentially they are racists who prefer their comforts above their ideals. Rather sad fuckers who really should be amongst their own trailer trash kinds in their home countries but are so entranced by their own narcissism that they need to put themselves above all else, including home, family, and culture.

Quite true that as they suffer from all the causes of suffering that being greed, delusion, and hatred. The poor buggers must really suffer.

I do feel some pity and compassion as it must have serious karmic blow-back waking up every morning with those thoughts of hatred for their hosts. Then the delusion kicks in. Later on in the day they go out seeking happy hour bars to drink like lords but not after the happy hour ends, feeling much contented thereafter in the sure knowledge that they're living the good life.

They are to be pitied really.
