$150 p/hr for a phone interview via LinkedIn ? legit or scam.

I've been contacted by some bloke in China wanting to set me up with some investors interested in building a school in Bali. So far the sort of questions they've listed sound fair enough. They're offering $150 p/hr to speak to me on the phone. That's not earth shatteringly expensive, but not bad for an out of work teflr either!

Just wondering if it's legit or a new type of scam....anyone heard of this before?

Shure, just give them the usual payroll info like Social Security number and your bank account number so they can direct deposit the funds into their account.

They may need remote access to your laptop for file sharing ect.

Seriously though I dont know what their all about. Do your homework.

I've heard if it sounds too good to be true it is. Cunsutants are not cheep unless their on the TD forum.

    Good luck.

I get contacted by these types quite a bit and I've noticed over the years that they're becoming ever more slick and sophisticated. I have received a few of these glossy expensive-looking prospectuses that all look pretty professional and impressive, but do even a little research on the 'company' behind them and it's invariably shite.

Used to be a company called GLG that sent similar proposals. Never followed up on those, it was always consultation / interview first, pay later.

if your skype is already on your linkdin then ask for a video call - else set up a disposable skype to use and give that to them

then install manycam and set it as your source for skype choose a retarded feed and see how long they last talking to you
If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.

Send back one question.... how will the money be paid.....

If they are scammers they will give up.

If they are real they will think you are a mercenary bastard and give up.

Then you can start a thread..... Why won't these people talk to me again and ask us which of the two happened.

I got contacted by one, Singapore based, not really a scam, scam, it's more of a people library.
They keep a list of people with skills or knowledge of any thing, all comes a guy, wants to open a hairdressers in Timbuktu, for a fee they have a contact.

You may never get contacted, unless you are in a really specialized field, then you would already be consulting on big buck.

Some follow the traditional telephone and/or face to face style, others are of the 'can you start Monday?' variety. The latter are often desperate so you push your rate up and try to make a good impression in the first week to persuade them you are worth the extra £100/day.
