the only thing good about 4k movies will be the 1080p x265 rips that you will torrent to watch on your 1080p

the smart television bits are basically sh1t and you would be much better off putting a NUC unit with iris6100 graphics on the back of them

You paid 16,000 baht only in November for a 51 inch plasma. You could buy 5 of them for the price of that ultra hd TV and still have change for 3 coopers, a few himshes and a decent spinning mop

Since you bought that plasma your Aussie dollar has slumped another 10 % to the baht

    It's no bargain Terry,

Quite a great deal I recon, but I do have that nice 50 " I bought for piss all on Sale so I'll more than likely stay with it.

I am temped to just arse the 50" though and Pop on this new one.

    Jesus Mate,

The way I'm hemorrhaging money at the moment what the fok is another 86 K baht.

The sale is on till the 31St of this month, see what happens EH.

Harvey Norman (local retailer in NZ) has them on special for around 3 grand.
Just noticed the ad on the telly tonight... not that it makes any difference... just letting you know.

One thing I hate, is buying something quite substantial price-wise, thinking you got a cracker deal... then seeing the exact same thing even cheaper the next week...

    I fooking hate that...

Buy it, pay it. And never, ever, ever look at the price of that item elsewhere.

^ haha... easier said than done, Nidhogg bro :-)

I just bought a Benjamin Titan GP nitro piston .22 rifle.. in NZ for $385
same gun in the states is $150

That being said, I was well aware of that fact prior to purchase... but no other retailer in NZ had that particular gun, so I happily coughed up the cash (knowing I was being ass raped).

At least the local gun shop is responsible for any repairs/defects, etc... so not too bad... bloody cracking little gun BTW...

I have seen some demo models - bloody amazing. Not quite amazing enough for me to blow that much cash on a TV, mind you.
All TVs in the stores seem to have good picture quality. They all appear to show unnaturally colourful shots of scenery not found anywhere on this planet. Lush green meadows with flowers of every hue in full bloom under cloudless blue skies etc. The only time you'll see that kind of scenery is when you're walking alongside the baby Jesus and long-lost relatives up in God's kingdom.

A few days ago I was comparing a flat screen next to a curved at Zeer Rangsit. Both showing the same video. Couldn't see any difference viewing them head on or from the sides.

The Telli I was lookin at had a USB plugged in playing the latest High Def Scenes.

    The point being,

That if you can provide the latest Top quality Input the TV will play it in High Def top quality out put.

It's not that hard to work out that these top end TV's require the top end input to actually show what they can do.

Music DVD's in HD would be brilliant.

What does Norman normally sell them for?

The handbag has a Samsung Note 3. The picture quality and Video blow me away.

    It's truly superb so I imagine the " 6 " is better.

Thing is, I'm a Cave man and ain't stepped up to a smart phone.

    Have been lookin though.

    Maybe one decade.

why does anyone need a 65" TV in their house?
To clear up any confusion about the extent of their vulgarity.

^ ooh the green eyed monster has surfaced

The youngest posters on here would have all grew up with 22 inch tellys and glorious technicolor like me I guess.
But that was the height of technology in its time.

Fair play to Terry if he wants to spunk his dough on a big TV. It's the fact he's buying technology that's not universal yet that it seems a waste of wonga to me.

My dad did buy a beta max though

Quite right. The ONLY explanation for why someone would not want to lounge in bacterial stupidity in front of a planet-sized television day and night is, as you so sagely observe, jealousy.

Why would you need to day and night?

    Be great for the footy.

If I was Terry, I would stick with the plasma he has, plug a laptop or pc into the back of it and use that as my media centre for watching and downloading movies, music and even typing away on teakdoor.

    Mmm 51 inch porn

All you need Terry is a nice subwoofer and 2 speakers, 5000 baht will get you some nice ones.

If you need help setting it up Terry, I can pop round. Fill up the fridge

But if somebody wants to buy a television the size of the Berlin Wall, I guess that's up to them. I couldn't imagine putting that fucking monstrosity in my house if they paid me 85,000 baht but if that's what floats your boat....
