If one wants to drink Guinness it's the same price as the real world ( $10 AUD ) so fok that.
Pubs do Happy hour Pints of lager for 100 Baht $ 4 AUD but I never drink them, they just bloat me and no kick so Jam them Mother Foe's.
I drink the Dark Lao at 120 Baht ( $ 5 AUD ) each. Kill 4 of them and then go home.
Happy days and a cheap few drinks at the Pub.
Go to the Pub in Perth with a few mates and kiss goodby to $ 80.
Not a bad mix: 6.5% and 6% (i.e., Chang Classic: Chang Draught is 5%)Originally Posted by terry57

Weihenstephan is known for the Benedictine Weihenstephan Abbey, founded 725, which established the oldest still operating brewery in the world (1040) (see History of beer).[1] The brewery is now a company called Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan (Bavarian State Brewery Weihenstephan, i.e. it is owned by the State of Bavaria) and closely related to the TUM and its graduate studies program for brewing and beverage manufacturing.
First, I would like everybody to be aware of what ya ba is. According to wiki:Originally Posted by terry57You can draw your own conclusions as to the dangers of meth.Ya ba (also ya maa, yaba, yaa baa, ya baa or yah bah; Thai: ยาบ้า, literally "madness drug"; are tablets containing a mixture of methamphetamine and caffeine.
But I read the following post from 2007 on bluelight.org and would like to know if it's anywhere near to the truth...
Okay everyone...
As i am sure you all know, here in Thailand we get shedloads of Yaba.. It's quite literally everywhere u turn, ingrained in the Thai way of life to an extent only truly appreciated after an extended stay.
Please read the guidelines, no availibility discussion.
What colour?
Scent?
Speckled red, or pink?
I am intrigued to know what the quality is like outside of Thailand... 'cause here, if u get good stuff, it's way stronger and much much more fun feeling than high grade rocks of ice. From what i gather, the combination of Meth, Caffeine and ephedrine morph together to create a much more sociable feeling..
We also get this lethal beer that seems designed to compliment the stuff.... Ur gonna love this... It's called Chang, Or Beer Charng (said in a rising tone).
It's got a varying degree of alcohol content from bottle to bottle due to the dark brown colour of the glass and the fact that it is brewed from sugar cane and continues secondary fermentation when left (invariably) in direct sunlight!!! So basically, it's ;like the russian roulette of beer....
Government here did a quality control check recently on one thousand bottles taken randomly from the factory.. Results showed a content varying from 6% to 16.5%!!!!!!!
Love it

“The Master said, At fifty, I knew what were the biddings of Heaven. At sixty, I heard them with docile ear. At seventy, I could follow the dictates of my own heart; for what I desired no longer overstepped the boundaries of right.”
In Perth we pay $58 per carton for this beer. If we buy 6 packs or singles its a lot dearer than carton price.
So Carton price is around $2.50 per bottle AUD so I recon $5 a bottle in Bangkok ain't to shabby.
Saigon was surprising, I was drinking Imported Coopers sparkling Ale in the Pub for under $ 2 per Small bottle.
Happy Days.
An English mate turned up a while ago whilst I was drinking a big bottle of coopers sparkling ale. I lazily poured him the last 3rd of the bottle, causing the sediment to swirl round his glass.
It put a smile on his face, proclaiming " I could drink that all day".

Yes, I'm a big fan of the Coopers sparkling Ale.
When I go back to Perth twice a year I buy two cartons to accompany me on my road trips.
I home brewed for 15 years and it was Coopers all the way.
Hey Terry, any home brew tips mate?
I might give it a bash myself. You reckon Coopers is the best one ay?
My grandad kept his home brew recepies in a book. Pretty good they were too. I must dig it out again. I've made a few ales but want to try my hand at stout. Seeing your kit, I might have to get cracking..
In my Opinion Coopers is the go but these days there are a multitude of brews to choose from.
Best advice I can give is start with the Coopers brew pack, follow the instructions exactly and go from there.
Once you are tuned in you can brew anything.
Coopers lager is very drinkable followed by the Real Ale and Stout if one likes the Dark brew. Good luck with it.
Sterilisation is a must do. Make sure your bottles are fully sterilised.
Most failures of Home Brew are simply because punters do not sterilise religiously.
Next common fault is not brewing and storing at the correct temperature.
Do it properly and you will end up with 60 of these little babies.
You could have taken the labels off and designed your own.
Easy, put them in boiling water and scrub and peel.
Funny you say that Pats.
When I first started brewing Coopers produced a label for Home Brewers and I did just that.
After the first 60 I was over it.
^ Thanks bro :-)

Here is a tip for sourcing your bottles, next time you are having drinks with the mates soon as your beer is downed just get up and rinse the empty under the tap.
Give it a good rinse and make sure it is clean. All you need to do then is throw some boiling water through the Bottle.
When you are ready to bottle your new brew and it's game on.
Start with a stash of 120 bottles, this way you can brew immediately you have completed bottling the first lot and just continue on into infinity.
You will end up with this, make sure you cover your empty clean bottles to stop any shit getting in them.
You will then end up with sixty stubbies.
Next step is to keep them warm and send them to sleep. with Coopers I found the longer you left them sleeping the better the taste was. Hence I always had a heap of bottles on the go.
Cheers mate :-0
I'll be an alcoholic like me dad in no time hehe
Terry, I popped in the local supermarket on the way home for a pack of coopers stout and a bottle of merlot tonight when, low and behold, I saw this can I front of myself. I took this can to be my roadie, looking forward to sampling a great dark on the way home. I have dissapointed my self several times today. The second was sampling the aforementioned brew. The third time was giving it one more chance. Sad to say my first stubble of coopers was ruined by the metallic taste on my tongue, and the feeling I my vomit any minute. On the up side, I may not have to weed my driveway for quite some time. Please, stick to Coopers.

Well,
I have just had two of them, my good self reckons they are excellent for a change.
Two is enough though, I have things to do tomorrow.
With Beer it's an individual taste and to debate the virtue of one in particular is pointless and akin to talking politics.
Just enjoy your brew mate, I'm not hooked on my 7.9 % but I am enjoying them.
Won't be long till that Carton is dead.
If that paraffin you are drinking were a politician........Originally Posted by terry57
