^ Things will pick up mate... Good luck usually follows bad bro...
At least your lawyer was straight up with you, saved you heaps of money and stress of a court case you had no show of winning...
I'm sure you'll just get on with it... enjoying life, as is your motto - don't stress the small shit. Good luck mate.
This is 350,000 AUD 'down the shitter'? Brave man that Terry. Losing 8,947,610 THB is actually a big deal.Originally Posted by terry57

Well it was a big deal at the Time ( 11 years ago ) but once I had consulted a few Lawyers and received the same information ( Which was to forget it ) the pain slowly subsided around year 5.
Don't you worry about that mate, If I did not fear going to Jail I would of been rampaging around the joint with a fookin Smith and Western.
Anyway I had my last crack at it a few weeks ago so I'm quite content that it's done and dusted and put to Bed.
As far as losing 20 K AUD in 4 weeks on my Super goes ( Another 500,000 baht ) it all comes out in the wash so play on.
I do hope things pick up though, I'm way to young to be broke and contemplating a life in some fookin Mooban up Norf.
Fok that,
I'll go back to Perth, watch Telli for the rest of my life and eat Mama noodles.

Na,
Timing was perfect mate, Had to be done.
I was lucky I had the opportunity to consult the Lawyer for the final time or I would of always been wondering if there was a way to get some of that coin back.
I'm not the only person to be fuked over and will certainly not be the last.
My Lawyers have been brilliant with their straight up advice.
They all informed me it happens everyday.
At the End of the day I'm doing fine financially so what the fook EH.
So far anyway....

Well Jacky,
If things get real desperate I'll move to Yasothon and survive on 30K baht a month .
Na fuk that, I'll just jump from my 14th floor Balcony instead.

Put all your threads into it, a la Slapster.
You have quite the gift of the pen.
Terry just a quick Lawyer story that's the opposite of your sticker-shock bill. Recently on the Gold Coast I wanted to update my Will, the lawyer I used making the last one 10+ years ago charged about $350 and I wanted to use him again but he's since dropped head from a heart-attack (and is probabaly trying to sue his parents for inferior products from the grave).
So a Google search showed a law firm that handled such matters close to where I was staying, an appointment was made and off we go. He and his PA spent around 50 minutes with me the first time, then another 20 or so minute the following day while the final draft was printed up and signed. I took $1000 in cash + credit cards expecting the bill to be in the same ballpark as what you shelled out, but there was no bill. No idea how this works unless the Government is paying or something . Never seen a Lawyer who works for free, more so in a private practice in a swanky building, but there was no charge for the service. Scores!.

Interesting and very unusual story.
My will was lodged with the Public Trustee in Perth, I used to be able to Update it for $50 Buks.
3 years ago they changed their policy, any changes to a Will will incur a new will Fee of $350 .
Fookin Wankers, they get a massive wedge of the Will when they disperse it after the Punter Dies.
Just an amendment to this story, I'm not having a cry about my Lawyers bill.
It's simply what one must pay in Perth to seek Council from an experienced Lawyer.
In my last case I had two of them dealing with me at one point. I was happy to pay.
Would of been much worse if some inexperienced turd took it to court and I lost a massive wedge for a zero result.
