I also would bring a Hammer down on the fuckers who changed the Thailand laws about foreign land ownership in the late 60's. Two guesses who changed those laws!
NOT TRUE THAI PEOPLE!

If I had a huge government funded Hammer I would smash the drug rings that are polluting our youth and society with their shit.
CVNTS!
If I had a hammer......I'd rent it out to LT.
Sure, and if it isn't Felch, himself, seeking out a hammer...
It's one thing to have survived the world's first full anal transplant, compliments of your former set of knickers, AnalAndy...But I wouldn't necessarily consider it a success...
Close your mouth, Felch...Nobody wants to piss in it...
One question, though...What did your ladyboy friend's father say to you when he learned you were porking his son?...
I'll bet he wished he had a sledge hammer...
Heh...
^ Struth that's a bite and half that is, hook line sinker rod reel and half an arm to boot!

Very well put. Many Chinese want to emigrate, many do emigrate - and enrich the next host country with well educated, hard working citizens whose rough edges don't work in the westOriginally Posted by hazz

Having said that, most Chinese, especially in MY and SG, were imported as labour for the mines - tin mainly.
They worked their arses off, especially compared the more laid-back Malays, created wealth, educated their children, employed scores of others . . . and are blamed or being wealthy.
In Australia it's called the Tall Poppy Syndrome . . . here it's simply racism
One of the reasons is that they are ethnically different, whereas in Thailand they are notOriginally Posted by Loy Toy

Yep, in Penang the Clan Jetties are another good example.
They are clever people the Chinese a world apart from your average Thai.
In Penang they're the majority so things do work better than in the rest of semananjung . . .
I spent a week up in Penang recently, working - what a difference to KL . . . exceot the people drive even worse than here.
What the Malays have done wrong, and that includes the Indons, is marginalise the Chinese, hereby forcing them to excel or die out . . . So, the Chinese worked ten times as hard and many succeeded despite discriminatory laws or other means of discrimination. In Indonesia they weren't allowed to keep Chinese names nor learn Chinese (any dialect) . . .
In egalitarian societies the Chinese (second generation) don't stand out economically
simply because they don't have to, to survive
Sure, it's easy criticising them, and they're not the most pleasant bunch, but respect their work attitude?
Absolutely
If you want a good chat/ear bashing about how the Chinese are treated by the Malaysians, speak to Mr Pot in his 24 hour restaurant/bar on Gurney Drive.
Top guy

Erm, the beers cheap. The Rasa Sayang do a great Sunday buffet with a great sunset. there's also a nice restaurant called tree monkey near Ferrimghi which is Thai owned underneath a canopy of screeching monkeys. Another swanky place you'd like, Mr Hat would be Macallister Mansion.
Thank you for the tips!
Of course, having been married to a Chinese lady and having lived in HK for 12 years, I can heartily affirm the Chinese are not the least bit racist. Or clannish. Or nepotist.Originally Posted by panama hat
Those truisms are of course even more obvious in Thailand.
Did anyone say they weren't?Originally Posted by sabang
