    Beautiful bamboo buildings in Bali

This bird Elora Hardy designs and builds amazing bamboo architecture through her company Ibuku in Bali. Thought of putting this in the construction thread but it's not Thailand obviously. Whether it gives you some inspiration or you just enjoy a daydream its worth a look.

I'll put a few photo's up to give you an idea, but well worth checking her portfolio pictures here. Architecture | Ibuku

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

Hardy builtvthe green school...where yuppies send their kids for a year or 2 to get greened up....unfortunately they not delivering what they aspire to and theceducation is shite...but he makes 4mil a year out of it.

These bamboo houses are for sale and rent, reflecting the outragious prices these gimps will pay for a bit of hippy experience.

Any bamboo, treated or not, if gets light and water on it will not last long.....if covered, it is fine...but a bamboo humpy, no matter how flash, should not cost more than a traditional house, yet these all do

Yep. The Green School is shite, but then again there's enough idiots in Bali who have read or seen Eat Pray, Love...

Panyaden school in Chiang Mai is a bit like this.

It seems to be for middle-class hippie Buddhist types who want their little princes and princesses to learn how to meditate, make adobe bricks, play at being farmers on Wednesday afternoons, etc. etc before going on to more serious careers as capitalist bastards.

I seem to remember seeing that the people who did the building work were available for private work; it was (I think though I could be wrong) 400,000 baht for a bamboo roof/structure shade over a swimming pool. Right on, brother.

Nothing wrong with aspiring to be a capitalistic bastard providing one has enuf capital. If not one becomes a plain old bastard.

Bamboozled = paying extensively more for an object than what it could possibly be worth.

Does look nice though. I like the new style of bamboo floring thats come out lately.
