It's been an all-volunteer แปล military for quite some time now. Doesn't diminish the fact that their sacrifice should not be honored.
Talking about your photos. Yes, sacrifice. Know what that actually means?
Heh...well, it certainly isn't some soft cvnt sitting comfortably in his bedsit in Blighty taking the piss out of those who have sacrificed their lives for their counties now is it?
I'll have you know that this chair is actually quite uncomfortable. I'm not taking the piss out of them, quite the opposite. I'm saying that they were slaughtered in their thousands and their millions for nothing very much, not for their country, not for honour or glory, but for the vainglory and greed of their leaders. Yes, they should be remembered, but for what was really done to them and not some Disneyfied bullshit.

Those whose comrades were butchered should not be waving flags and indulging in misty-eyed patriotism, they should be asking what their friends really died for and how their deaths made the world a better place. Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq, all stupid, pointless, dirty little wars that were fought for no good reason and achieved nothing except more pointless death and bloodshed. If you really cared about the dead you'd be enraged at their pointless slaughter instead of celebrating it.

I can well agree with you regarding say gallipoli for example or even Viet Nam but modern day events from Desert Storm onward, we're not seeing the old 'cannon fodder' of olden days.

The volunteers should have a listen to the Pope.

Many powerful people don't want peace as they live off war.

Best to remove the แปล before you post; if you reveal that you're constantly looking up the Thai which you gratuitously insert into your posts, you look like even more of a twat. But for future reference, you could say (though I'm not sure if this is the best way - you might want to check with a native speaker) สหรัฐฯ ไม่มีเกณฑ์ทหาร

On Monday morning, the President will host a breakfast in honor of Memorial Day. Veteran and Military Family Service Organizations and senior military leadership will be in attendance, as well as organizations that support the families of the fallen, including the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors; Gold Star Mothers; Gold Star Wives, Sons and Daughters in Touch. This breakfast in the State Dining Room is closed press.

Later in the morning, the President will travel to Arlington National Cemetery where he will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and deliver remarks. The wreath-laying as well as the President’s remarks are open to pre-credentialed media.

That's a really, really small soldier, with an extraordinarily long rifle. Do you like that picture because the artist also lacks a sense of perspective, Booner?

George W. Bush Texas Air National Guard - Served in U.S. during Vietnam War.

After April 1972, Bush may have failed to meet the attendance requirements established for members of the Air National Guard. In mid-1972, he failed to meet the Air Force requirement for an annual physical examination for pilots, and lost his authorization to be a pilot.

Correct statement. Of course it's all relative. And if you use "none" as your frame of reference, you are indeed correct.

1 out of 365 days in a year we honor our men and women who died while serving in the military. Is that really so bad Bob? Aren't the other 364 days in a year enough to try to make people feel bad? Must I piss in the wheaties of families who lost family members in wars? Why can't you just stand down for one day? Right or wrong it seems to me we can afford to set aside 1 day to show some respect for their sacrifice.
