Chuck Norris, State Politicians back Jade Helm concerns.....

A bizarre conspiracy theory about a military takeover of the US state of Texas has surfaced after the US military announced it would be taking part in a training exercise there.

The military exercise, called Jade Helm 15, will be a two-month operation beginning in July and taking place across seven US states, including Texas.

But some online right-wing conspiracy theorists say it is really a plan to invade Texas.

A man who calls himself Freedom Fighter 2127 posted his fears on YouTube.

"Texas will be the first state, according to our military source, these are not just drills. Texas will be the first state to be under martial law," he said.
The theories were fuelled by a leaked military image of a training map which shows Texas and parts of southern California marked as "hostile".

Martial artist, actor and film producer Chuck Norris this week added weight to online commenters' concerns on US news website WND, where he urged Texans not to believe government reassurances it is simply a military exercise.

I understand the reason for concern and uncertainty because when the federal government has not demonstrated itself to be trustworthy in this administration
    Former Texas official David Dewhurst
"I think there's something a little more involved than what they're telling us," he wrote.

"Whether deterrence, display of power or something more covert or devious, let's not come with any patronising nonsense of impotence and simplicity when its origin is in Washington.

"It's neither over-reactionary nor conspiratorial to call into question or ask for transparency about Jade Helm 15 or any other government activity."

Texas governor Greg Abbott has ordered the National Guard to monitor the exercise.

    Texas politicians 'understand' concerns

Texas senator and Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz says he can understand why people are concerned and that he is seeking clarification from the military.

"Well, I have a great deal of faith and confidence in Governor Abbott," Cruz said.

"He is a long-time friend and mentor of mine. You know, I understand the concern that's been raised by a lot of citizens about Jade Helm.

"We're assured that it is a military training exercise and I have no reason to doubt those assurances but I understand the reason for concern and uncertainty because ... the federal government has not demonstrated itself to be trustworthy in this administration."

A former state official, David Dewhurst, is blaming anti-Obama sentiment and a general distrust of government.

"I think you've got some paranoia which is based upon legitimate concerns by my fellow Texans, by myself and by a lot of Americans about the trustworthiness and the competence of President [Barack] Obama but for heaven's sakes, let's not project that onto our military," he said.

But former Texas governor Rick Perry has criticised them all for not ruling out the rumours.

"You know, I'm one of these guys I think it's OK to question your government. I do it on a pretty regular basis," he said.

"The military is something else so, you know, I think our military is quite trustworthy and civilian leadership, you can always question that but not the military."

The Pentagon has sent senior military officials into Texas communities to quell residents' fears.

Yeah if George Junior was doing it, they'd all be cheering it on as part of the "war on terror".

    What a bunch of idiots.

That's as absurd as Russia 'invading' Crimea. Texas already houses multiple military bases, including I believe the USA's largest at Fort Hood. You're already occupied cowboy.

These martial law-domestic occupation conspiracy theories have been ongoing for quite a time amongst the selected circle...be it real or disguised.

If ever such activity were to be put into place on the surface, the American populous wouldn't recognize such demeaning ventures anyway - as they've been under a hypnotic spell of suppressive and controlled occupation of subliminal martial law [in a hidden twisted manner] for decades.

So, when the rag-tag inbreds get a posse together to intimidate the US Army and no military takeover of the state eventuates then then morons will see it as a victory . . .

Growing up in Texas, I remember distinctly how schools enthusiastically reminded their students every now and then that our state constitution allowed Texas to separate from the Union anytime the citizens so felt inclined. It was implied that we could bail out of the U.S. whenever we disagreed with the Federales.

Later on I learned it would be damned near impossible to do so, but I'm certain most native Texans believe it would be as simple as just declaring it.

There's a lot of beautiful places, and people, in Texas but it truly has a unique culture apart from other areas of the U.S. All based on indoctrination, of course.

Texas entered the Union with no such right. So your teachers lied through their teeth.
What Texas did negotiate was the right to break into 5 separate states in the future.

Chuck Norris has got the excuse that he is pretty ancient and is living proof that a career of repeated blows to the head is indeed detrimental.

What excuse do the rest have apart from that they are idiots pandering to idiots?

But former Texas governor Rick Perry has criticised them all for not ruling out the rumours.
When Rick Perry is the voice of reason on something then it's time to take stock.

If that became a normal precedent then no one would be living anywhere.

Humanity has a fetish with tribalism and possessions, land and resources being primary. Until all nations choose to see everyone as "one tribe" then invasions and land taking, cultural assimilation, genocide, etc. will continue relentlessly. It is happening today.

Giving back large swaths of topography to other tribes who once occupied/claimed the area is impractical at this juncture. Choosing to respect the boundaries of other tribes right now is a huge challenge for our species as it is.

At any rate, your suggestion is a bit nave.
