^Haven't they discovered the redeemable "stamps," at Big C for various articles yet?

So far one nice cooking pan and two sets of long desert spoon sets...only takes a few zillion visits to Big C and numerous baht spent...be sure to tell the wives boys.

    Misery loves company.

Simply happy to be above the ground. Today I heard that a colleague I know(Not a close friend but a guy I have known from a previous company) bit it last night. Just like that. Gone. He was 58. Amazing how quick your ticket can be pulled. He was your typical work a lot guy. Always felt he needed more.

I have been on a hiring frenzy the last month or so, The team is really coming together and the company is growing at a very fast clip. Its nice when you can source good people and they quickly get on well with each other. In fact a few were reunited from previous companies and I was able to pull people that worked for me before at other companies to come join me here. Its GO TIME. My personal "Exit stage left" plan is 8 months and I call it a career(Although CEO is working me hard to stay on longer). Its time to relax, put my feet up, toss some horseshoes, BBQ and do what I want when I want.

Finished off a construction project that required a lot of finicky fitting and cutting tiles and rendeering and grouting yesterday.

I'm happy today because I have to move a ton of soil, level around 80 square metres of land, mix some concrete and pour it. A lot of sweating but not too much thinking.

Lots of visits from my Thai extended family, friends and people I didn't even expect to offer the "respect water," to douse this old man. Nice feeling to be thought of on their own not one of those things like obligatory visits...went around the Chiang Saen city in the truck with some and shared their happiness at tossing water and getting tossed back at...lots of laughing and happy people who don't get to do this very often.

I really am getting to like and appreciate my circumstance and decision more every day.

Cheers all...even the Mods who locked me out of Speaker's Corner unjustifiably...

Me? Simple……whenever I get frustrated with banks, lawyers, western rellies and politics ad nauseum; just have to look into my wife’s big brown smiling eyes with flecks of black..I just melt.
So what if I have sometimes to do the dishes, clean the bathrooms, and feed the dogs, finance kids and rellies..is what hubbies do yes?

Always cooks up delights and makes sure the beer fridge is full.
Methinks if the world was populated by her clones it just may be a better place.

Happy I’m not in Thailand (or Khon Kaen where I stay while in Thailand for the most part) during this time of year.

Picture below was taken in Khon Kaen 46C ≈ 114.8F

Where I spend my time during this part of the year.

About the photo. It’s a Black Racer who has grown comfortable with us, while we work in his yard.

Thankful for the washing machine being in working order once again. Appliance repair shops in my town couldn't or wouldn't help, but we found a Thai man in a nearby town who happily drove to our place in his pick-up and took the machine back to his shop for repair. Three days later, after having replaced the main control board, he brought it back today. We just completed a wash load and all is well.

The price for repair totaled 1,850 baht - much easier to swallow than having to buy a new 11 kg unit for 9,000 baht or more. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope we get a few more years of service from it.

The rainy season has finally arrived here in Prachaup. For the past 3 days it has been quite wet - mostly drizzly rain with intermittent stronger downpours. My water bill should go down now as I don't have to go out every couple of days to water the garden. Except I've already spent any savings for this month on a couple of rain slickers.

Time seems to be passing very slowly today, which means that, although I am aging, it is less noticeable.

My wife only missed one question. Took the test in Guam. When asked, "What was the Emancipation Proclamation?" she pondered it for a moment and responded, "A huge mistake?"
