On my way to the office from Phetkasem to Min Buri I must avoid 10 twats in cars and vans who are completely oblivious to what is around them. Thank fcuk I have a loud exhaust and a dual horn. Obnoxious? may be, but it gets the twats attention. Thais should not be in control of machinery of any sort which is way beyond their thinking capacity
You bullied, you laughed, you lied, you lost!
Every farang driving in Thailand should have a dash cam in their car. If you've read this thread and do not have one (or are not getting one very soon), you're quite deluded.
I love the rattling sound and a nice healthy odour as well
Music to my ears. Identical to the first Mach III that I owned back in the day.
LT..
Granted two wheels are less safe than four regardless of licenses or road sense, but suggesting millions be deprived of two wheel mechanized transportation because they are poor, stupid yada yada is a bit "let them eat cake" methinks.
My dad rode an NSU Quickly to work for years, to provide for us, he could not afford a car. His only accident was the fault of 4 wheels!
^^^^
That said I am extremely paranoid every time my wife takes off to visit mamma or go to market on her newly purchased Honda.
She has been driving a motorbike for years, fully licensed etc yet I always say 'look out for crazy truck drivers'.
Her response is always "s'okay I drive slow". Trying to tell her that it is not her driving that is problem is useless.
Never happy till I see her smiling face coming up our road....
Happy to share my evening driving with idiots on 2 wheeled death machines.
1. Drove out of my soi, want to turn left but some cvnt with a 3 year old child wants to turn right cutting through the traffic from my blind side..........No Blood.
2. Travelling down a major soi and some fvcker overtakes another car on a corner and is all of a sudden heading for my windscreen with that stupid monkey look on his face. No Blood because I saved his and the pillions life by swerving off to the left to avoid fatal impact.
3. To anyone who wishes to drive in Thailand get some good insurance as these stupid fuckers on 2 wheeled death machines are plying their trade. Hit them even if you are clear and legal you still have to pay with your life.
Ban these two wheeled death machines/toys>
Yes, I think that Harleys and big machines are dangerous toys and should be banned.
Noisy worthless totally inefficent people movers and I am sick and tired about picking these drivers off the pavements!
Don't call me again!
I want to buy a Hummer and squash all these stupid fvckers and to be honest claim 100% LEGAL RIGHT TO DO SO.Originally Posted by thaimeme

Don't forget front and rear dashcams to go with your 1st class insurance.
Under article 44 a new motorbike defense force has been created to fend off ting tong farang drivers.
In addition to the complete Thai throbbers, you also have a heady mix of expats and tourists in your neck of the woods LT. As it is also invariaably overcrowded, all these factors are the cause of your angst.
If I am in a car or a pick up or on a motorbike, I always drive slowly with the utmost care and attention, always expecting the worst.
The one dangerous thing I do is the execution of a right turn exactly as it should be done. None of this Thai nonsense about pulling over to the left until all the following traffic has passed.
Doing it properly represents a risk and I expect one day to be flattened by a speeding Thai tanker driver who has not seen me signal, pull to the centre of the road and then brake/stop.
Ce la vie.
Maybe move to Rangoon if it's too bad for you here mate.
Turning right
179
Well before you turn right you should
180
- use your mirrors to make sure you know the position and movement of traffic behind you
- give a right-turn signal
- take up a position just left of the middle of the road or in the space marked for traffic turning right
- leave room for other vehicles to pass on the left, if possible.
Wait until there is a safe gap between you and any oncoming vehicle. Watch out for cyclists, motorcyclists, pedestrians and other road users. Check your mirrors and blind spot again to make sure you are not being overtaken, then make the turn. Do not cut the corner. Take great care when turning into a main road; you will need to watch for traffic in both directions and wait for a safe gap.
Remember: Mirrors – Signal – Manoeuvre
This is the way we were taught in UK. Hope this helps with any confusion you may have.
Formally I had 2 bikes and sold them both.Originally Posted by chassamui

In fact I could have killed or injured 3 people last night if I had not been driving carefully. In fact the fool with the pillion passneger did brush the right hand side of the car it was that close.
I had 2 bikes also. And the scars to prove that I did....bloody thing used to bite me. Usually when we were sliding along sideways, quite happily.
Then BANG....damn thing used to try to pin me up against a large hedge, or if I was lucky, a bush..
Dear OP,
If we banned everything that Thais were bad at then there wouldn't be much left over...
