^ But saying that, I once had a cobra make a lunge for the front tyre of my motorcycle. Better the tyre than my shin, mind.

You've all seen this, I'm sure:

Why the instinctive dislike for the deadly serpents?
Our only reaction is extermination.
Rather typical.
They want less to do with us as we do with them.
Let them be......unless, they're on the menu for the evening.
Just like a true Aussie, Steve Irwin.

Lets just call it as a Big fookin snake EH. :)
The other pic showing it trying to climb the embankment opposite is interesting.
It's Back in Perth, I'll dig it out on my trip back.
Nit pickers the world over...that's not...FFS...
My wife saw a cobra as thick as her arm on the property but it escaped next door.
She said it looked very fat and was possibly pregnant.
Well I have been killing baby cobras, 5 in all over the past week and have yet to see the mum and more importantly the father.
In fact one of the local cats was eating one when I arrived home last night so there must be more around.
Does anyone know how many babies Cobra's have?
Thanks mate. I doubt that our snake is a King Cobra but if the normal Thai Cobra has 20-60 eggs there are at least another 10 babies out there.
I was reading a story today about a Pom Vet who is living on Samui, been there 15 years and specializes in Snake capture and rehabilitation.
Received a call to a snake hold up in an out side shitter.
He fronts up, does the business and captures it.
4 Meter King Cobra. :)
Reported with pictures in yesterday's Thai-Visa mail out.
He will release it back into the Jungle.
There are big snakes are out there on these Islands.
Would be a nice surprise if the fooker reared his head when your pants were around your ankles squeezing one out...
I should post up the Original picture of my King Cobra.
I cut the Image down so as to give a better view of the snake.
The uncut version shows the snake from further out and also shows the tracks of the D9 dozer which gives a scale as which to size the snake.
My sleepy boner can travel
Not even in your wildest dreams is it as big as Tel's snake, though :sorry1:Quote:

^Cheers! Check out Mr. Brook's comment under the article. "I'm not a vet though and he didn't interview me so not sure where that came from also in the thai news my name was pnil book so today I got pulled in by immigration police as they had no record of that name and I was illegal...I went to see them and it's all fine but be careful what you write about people even a mistake with your name can cause all sorts of problems....so my name is phil brook and I've never been a vet in the UK !"
He makes a good point.Quote:

Fookin nuts these Snake guys.
King cobras are well-known "dry biters"- they are smarter than most snakes, and have to be well pissed-off before they'll envenomate- unlike, say, a Russell's viper or a spitting cobra. I was told that by Bill Haast, who was famous for surviving snake bites, including a krait bite and a mamba bite. He lived to be 100.
