Yes, building all those roads, bridges, railways, and establishing a modern judicial system and rule of law was quite disgusting. Hired quite a few locals for the army too....

Considering the numbers of the colonized that want to live in the UK....things might not have been all that bad....except for the odd skirmish that history revisionists like to fall back on.....
